On Sunday, Maroon 5 is going to take the Super Bowl half time stage. In honor of the occasion, Anthem Lights recorded a medley of the band’s greatest hits.
As much as I love it and have had the song on repeat for the last hour, it proves to me why Adam Levine should not be doing the coveted spot. They are a chick band. Girls love them, men not as much. The Super Bowl is a man’s thing and they want more macho music. Why Bon Jovi has never done it is beyond me. They could bring the crowd to their feet like the deciding play in the final seconds of a the game.
Bands like Maroon 5 and Coldplay are just not going to do that. Then again, they can surprise us like Bruno Mars did. However, Levine says he has moves like Jagger, but, let’s be honest, he doesn’t have them.
Having said of all this I do like the band. I just think you have to know your audience and this is not their audience. You need a band that can blow the roof of an arena. They cannot do that. How do you feel about Maroon 5 landing the biggest gig of the year?

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson have gotten used to things at The Voice being as is, but this season things are going to get competitive with John Legend joining them on the big red chairs. That is because the EGOT winner is more than just a singer. Unlike those other three.
Plus, who is going to want to be on the team of American Idol’s first winner when they can work with a Tony winner? Who wants to be coached by someone who played the Super Bowl halftime show when they can be taught by the youngest winner of the touchdown of Hollywood awards? Why work with Blake Shelton when you can work with John Legend. Those three are going to be left with his sloppy seconds. And I cannot wait to watch it all go down starting on February 25th.
Before Adam Levine was in Maroon 5, he was in Kara’s Flowers waiting for his big break. Even when he was just 16 back in 1995, he knew how to work the camera.
Adam Levine is on Ellen today, and he shared a story with her about the time he saw a huge rat in his house eating dog food. The singer said that when the creature started to run away, he chased after it.
Ellen DeGeneres told him he was brave for doing that. As she was saying that, a man dressed as a rat jumped out of the ottoman, scaring the rat poop out of him. Proving he is not as brave as he thought.
Adam Levine sent out a tweet bashing the MTV VMA’s for not nominating Childish Gambino’s This Is America. Only thing is they did nominate him. Once The Voice coach found out that Donald Glover was nominated 7X over, he apologized. But that was not good enough for him. The Maroon 5 singer also recorded a video explaining what happened. It is so honest, it is hard not to like him.
I just hope that the VMAs invites Levine, so if Childish Gambino loses, then he can do a Kanye West. How hot would that be?
