Castle is going into its 8th season and you would think that the show has acquired a fan or two by now? And you would be right. Nathan Fillion shared a photo of his co-stars, Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas, with some of their biggest fans and I was impressed by how big they are. Although, Esposito is that anyway to hold a fan? You should handle her more delicately, like your partner.
NBC had huge numbers doing crossovers with all of their Dick Wolf shows, CBS enjoyed the same success when they did it with the NCIS and CSI franchises and CW has seen a rating increase when they’ve done it with the Vampire Diaries and the DC Comic shows but ABC hasn’t done one since Private Practice was on the air. ABC did something today that makes me wonder if they planning on bringing them back this season. The reason why I am questioning that is today they posted 6 one-minute mash-ups with 12 of their shows. They mashed up How to Get Away with Murder and Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs and Scandal, Modern Family and Castle, Once Upon a Time and General Hospital, Grey’s Anatomy and Black-ish, and The Middle and Whispers. After seeing how much symmetry there is between the shows that they put together, I would love to see full episodes dedicated to them working together like Seth MacFarlane did when he created a crossover episode for Family Guy and The Simpsons. If those two shows can do it, then any 2 shows can.
I mean wouldn’t you like to see Castle investigate a murder on Modern Family? Or what about the kids on Fresh Off the Boat learning how to get away with murdering their mom when she sends them to Chinese school? Once Upon a Time has turned into a Soap Opera, so why not send them to Port Charles and have Rumpelstiltskin and Sonny work together on committing the perfect crime on General Hospital? Beverly is such a good snoop on The Goldbergs, why wouldn’t Olivia hire to be part of her team on Scandal. Oh yeah, because The Goldbergs happens when Olivia was just a child. And Keating was just starting out when Fresh Off the Boat takes place. But when it comes to the other shows, why can’t it happen? I think it should happen. Don’t you?

Ashton Kutcher didn’t only play a tech mogul on Two and a Half Men, he is one in real life. So when one of the Sharks needed some time off from Shark Tank, the producers thought he would be the perfect Shark to swim in their water. That’s right, he going to sit on the panel and offer up his own money if he likes what he hears from the entrepreneurs.
In case you don’t know how successful he is outside of acting, here are some of the companies he as invested in in the past. Ron Burkle, Guy Oseary and him created the venture fund A-Grade investments in 2011 and invested in Airbnb, Spotify, Uber, Flipboard, SoundCloud, Foursquare, Shazam and Houzz. Then last year Oseary and him founded Sound Ventures and helped to fund Pager, Handy, Meerkat, Zenefits, Classpass and more. I don’t know about you, but I think that proves he is more than qualified for the job,
In fact, I hope that Mark Burnett is auditioning Kutcher for another show he does called The Celebrity Apprentice. How amazing would he be to replace The Donald? I’d tune in every week. Plus, imagine the celebrities that would jump at the chance to be in his boardroom?
Back to Shark Tank, Ashton is not the only guest Shark who is going to appear on the show this season. Chris Sacca, Former Google Exec, Venture Capitalist and Tech Veteran, and Troy Carter, Entertainment Mogul, Branding Expert and Investor, are also slated to appear on the show.
Hot off of the huge success of Celebrity Family Feud, ABC announced today that they are working on a new game show. Actually, it is old one because they are bringing back To Tell The Truth but modernizing it.
The show has three contestants all of whom claim to be same person, but only one of them truly is that person. Four celebrity panelists, including Betty White and NeNe Leakes, will ask them questions and then have to guess who is the real person.
To Tell The Truth will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and his hilarious mother, Doris, is going to be the scorekeeper. ABC says, she will be making fun of her son whenever she can.
The 6 TTTT episodes do not have a launch date, but ABC says it is coming soon. Personally, I am hoping ABC gets rid of their current Sunday dramas and instead does a night of game shows. The huge success of CFF proves it is worthy of being a fall show and I think TTTT has the potential to be a good fit with it.
In 1959, 7 men were chosen to be the first people to go into space and they became instant stars. Not only did they become famous, so did their wives. And tonight for the next 10 weeks their story will be told on ABC’s The Astronaut Wives Club.
The 7 men and their wives didn’t know each other before they were selected for the space program and now they are a team and a support system. The women will be there for each other when their husband’s go into space. Remember, they were the first ones to do it, so they are scared that their husband’s might not come back from their groundbreaking flights. Besides that pressure, they also have to deal with the press wanting to know more about them. As they press finds out more about them, so do we. Their lives aren’t as perfect as they look, so it helps that they have each other to be there for them.
There’s Alan Shepard (Desmond Harrington), whose the first to go into space, and his wife, Louise (Dominique McElligott), who is the toughest one of them all. She is the woman they strive to be. Gus Grissom and his wife, Betty (JoAnna Garcia), who is sweet and wears her emotions on her sleeve. John Glenn (Sam Reid) and his wife, Annie (Azure Parsons), and she stutters. Because of that she is afraid to face the press and that will cause problems for them. Scott Carpenter (Wilson Bethel) and his wife, Rene (Yvonne Strahovski) and she is the prettiest one of them all. Not only is she pretty, she has a secret that will make the press turn against her. Wally Schirra (Aaron McCusker) and his wife, Jo (Zoe Boyle) whose very supportive of her husband. Gordo Cooper (Bret Harrison) and his “wife” Trudy (Odette Annabell). I put wife in quotes because they are actually separated because he cheated on her, but they don’t want anyone to know. Deke Slayton (Kenneth Mitchell) and his wife, Marge (Erin Cummings) who is always by side. Tonight we get to know them and starting next week each of their husbands will go into space one by one.
It isn’t only their stories that makes this period drama so hypnotizing to watch, it is how perfectly they nailed that era. I couldn’t recognize some of the actors because their appearance changed so much for that time period. All of them looked better in that style than they their current look. Some period pieces don’t feel authentic, but this one does.
Plus, it makes you want to learn more about the Mercury 7. When we think about the space program, it normally starts with man landing on the moon. But those astronauts were not even the first 7 to go into space.
So starting tonight learn about their journey on a show that is as stunning to watch as it is to look at.
I can’t say enough great things about the show that debuts tonight at 8p on ABC.
