Molly Ringwald was talking to Out magazine and she told them that there was an alternate ending to Pretty in Pink. In that version Andie winds up Duckie, but we never saw it because it didn’t tell well with audiences. Here is her theory why, “Duckie doesn’t know he’s gay. I think he loves Andie in the way that [my gay best friend] always loved me. That ending fell so flat — it bombed at all the screenings. I didn’t realize it then — I just knew that my character shouldn’t end up with him, because we didn’t have that sort of chemistry. If John was here now, and I could talk to him, I think that he would completely acknowledge that.â€
Well Jon Cryer didn’t it take it lying down; and he told Zap2It “No, she actually said that if one projected beyond the movie, that Duckie would be out by now. And I respectfully disagree. I want to stand up for all the slightly effeminate dorks that are actually heterosexual. Just cause the gaydar is going off, doesn’t mean your instruments aren’t faulty. I’ve had to live with that, and that’s okay.” Duckie was a Metrosexual before they had a name for it.
But the talk about Duckie’s sexuality didn’t stop there, it then went to Twitter and somehow Andrew McCarthy aka Blane got mixed up in it.

Can I tell you watching the three Tweet each other like that made me feel exactly the same way I did when I saw the John Hughes movie for the very first time. I loved every single second of it. Seriously I love that all three of them are on Twitter and that they’re still playing around with each other like they did when they made that movie over a quarter of a century ago.
BTW I was Team Duckie, Team Blane and Team Steff back then and I still have crushes on all three of them today as they are now. Which Team were/are you on?
UPDATE: The sassing continued today on Twitter and I want a sequel to Pretty in Pink ASAP. They can all come back for their 25 year reunion and we can find out if Duckie brings a girl or a boy.

Ever since we got to know Soleil Moon Frye as Punky Brewster, she has always had long hair, That is until now because she got a drastic do. The Sabrina the Teenage Witch roommate has always wondered what she would like with shorter hair, so she finally decided to do it. The mother of two documented her hairstylist doing his magic and when he was done she had a sleek bob. You know what she looks great, but then again she always does.
My favorite part of the video is when her daughters Poet and Jagger see her for the first time. How precious was it when the six and the four year olds were shocked by their mom’s new look?

We have heard the cast of Growing Pains oppose Kirk Cameron views on homosexuality and now these former-child stars, who were acting when he was, have formed a group opposing him. Maureen Flannigan from Out of This World, Keith Coogan from Adventures in Babysitting, Kenn Michael from The Parent ‘Hood, Brice Beckham from Mr Belvedere, Christine Lankin from Step by Step, Jeremy Licht from The Hogan Family and Josie Davis from Charles in Charge have created CCOKC – Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron. And their motto is, “They are cocks, and Kirk Cameron is just a dick.” Amen to that!
Now I have to admit I did not post this Funny or Die that had an important message to get out there because of that. I posted it because how cool it is to see all those child actors all grown up??? And since you are watching the video to see them, they succeeded in getting their message across.
Back in the ’80s and ’90s Alfonso Ribeiro had a huge career thanks to Silver Spoons and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and now it looks like we know how he did it. It appears like The Tap Dance Kid did a dance with the devil. I mean why else would he partying with Beelzebub?
I mean I guess the logical answer is that he is Trinidad celebrating Carnival, but personally I like my answer better? How else do you explain Carlton’s dance? I always found it demonic, didn’t you?
Kristy McNichol has rarely been seen since she left Empty Nest and now she is coming out of hiding to come out of the closet. She has broken her two decade silence to People announce that she has been living with her partner Martie Allen since then. Why now? Her publicist told People, she “is very sad about kids being bullied,” adding “She hopes that coming out can help kids who need support. She would like to help others who feel different.” Since her movie Little Darlings has been a coming of age movie for so many decades, hopefully her braveness will do the same to people who need the support of someone like her coming out.
Way to go Kristy. Now can we get her back on TV or movies because her fans like me miss her.
