I don’t know about you, but after I watch a Lifetime movie, all I want is a margarita. I am sure I am not the only one.
Actually, I know others feel the same way as I do because Chili’s teamed up with Lifetime to create a mini-movie to promote Margarita Day on February 22nd.
“As the margarita experts, National Margarita Day is the most important holiday of the year at Chili’s, but we were all surprised that no feel-good stories have been made around this incredible holiday,” said George Felix, Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Lifetime is known for its beloved, iconic holiday programs, so there is no better partner to finally give National Margarita Day the attention it deserves. What better way to celebrate than with the holiday’s biggest television event and Chili’s signature margaritas.”
So, on February 19th at 10p, you can tune into the movie network to watch the 15-minute event, I’ll be Home for National Margarita Day.
Margaritas aren’t the only thing being shaken up in Ferguson Falls, a small town where National Margarita Day is the biggest event of the year, with Chili’s at the heart of the festivities. The short tells the story of Liz (Maria Menounos) and Sam (Taye Diggs), former love interests who are reunited at the local Chili’s when Liz returns to her hometown, desperate to escape the big city’s overpriced margaritas. Everything seems perfect until a big-city developer’s plans to build condos threatens to ruin the town’s National Margarita Day traditions. Liz and Sam must work together to stop the developer and save National Margarita Day, rekindling their relationship in the process.
I am a sucker for films like this, so I will be tuning in. Then, I will celebrate the holiday three days later at the Mexican restaurant. Who is with me?
Fun fact: Chili’s is the largest seller of Margaritas of the brand restaurants. How many do they sell in a year? A total of 25 million! That is a lot of tequila!
On a serious note, I hope that more companies do collaborations with studios/networks to promote their businesses. I think it is a fun way to get the word out.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced this year’s nominees, and Billy Idol is on the list. Who else is on it with him? Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Maná, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes are also nominated.
Believe it or not, Mariah has been nominated before but didn’t get in. So, who are this year’s first-time nominees? Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish.
“These remarkable Nominees have each created their own musical style and attitude, impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever-evolving sounds and continued growth of rock & roll”, said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
And my cousin and I have been talking about who our picks are. He is a Phishhead, and as you can tell, I want Idol. I am also rooting for the late Joe Cocker because his voice does things to me down there! Who on that list do you want to get in?
This year’s honorees will be announced at the end of April, and the Induction Ceremony will take place in Los Angeles in the Fall,
When Kim Kardashian started to get famous, she was known for her sex tape and her mASSive ass.
And now, thanks to SKIMS, she wants to give buttless women butts and boobs like hers. Well, maybe not exactly like hers.
How can she do that? You can buy her SKIMS Shapewear starting at $78. And that is a lot cheaper than what she pays to be keeping up with the Kardashians.
If you want a fabric butt and boob lift, then you can order the expensive underwear starting on February 13th. And by next Valentine’s Day, you could have a Valentine of your own.
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and you know what that means. Men all over the country are going to get down on one and ask the person they love to marry them.
Well, Red Robin wants to make it more special for one couple. All you have to do is propose to your sweetheart at one of their restaurants between today and February 19th with an onion ring from their Towering Onion Rings (not mandatory), and that fried vegetable could turn into a diamond ring up to $10,000.
After she or he says yes, upload the video or photo of the proposal to Red Robin (and to read the other rules), and you will be entered for a ring that will dazzle your grandchildren with a story to match.
“Red Robin fans love our Towering Onion Rings®, so we decided to turn that love into something more permanent for a pair of lovebirds this Valentine’s Day,” said GJ Hart, president and CEO of Red Robin. “With many couples choosing to select their engagement rings together, what better way to say, ‘I do’ than with an onion ring, followed by the excitement of picking out your forever ring together?”
If you are already married or not ready to get married, then take your Lovebird to the burger joint and mention to your server that you want the Lovebird Combo between now and Saturday. For $34.99, you get a choice of two select burgers: Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheeseburger, Banzai Burger, or Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Sandwich, two bottomless sides, and Lemon Cream Layer Cake.
Hopefully, your engagement won’t be sour like the lemon dessert. Better yet, may your big day not turn into a Red Wedding like the one they had in Game of Thrones.
Congrats to all the couples that get betrothed on February 14th!
I love it when Jeopardy comes up with categories that are so out there that they are awesome.
Case in point, on Pop Culture Jeopardy, they asked the contestants to answer clues about A Dark View of the Film.
What is the category about? It would be like, “This young girl is showing early signs of schizophrenia because the voices in her head are telling her what to do.” The answer would be Inside/Out.
That is the lame one I came up with. However, the writers did a better job than I did. And Colin Jost had so much fun reading the answers.
How sick are the contestants? They got all of the questions correct! How did you do?
