Does this teaser make you want to watch CIA?
December 15th, 2025 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

CBS’s FBI is getting its fourth spinoff, and this one will focus on the CIA.

The Dick Wolf procedural has had a rough start since its straight-to-series. Its backdoor pilot was cancelled, and several actors and executive producers left the show.

Having said all of that, the show is going forward with Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss as the lead agents. Today, CBS released the first look at the series.

When by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman (Gehlfuss) is loaned out to a clandestine CIA/FBI task force, he finds himself teamed up with secretive and roguish CIA case officer Colin Glass (Ellis). Together they will work covert operations in New York, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells, and geopolitical secrets. On CIA, Bill will learn the rules of this murky world on the fly as Colin leads him deeper into spy games where only one thing is clear — their work keeps America safe, even if no one will ever know what they did in the shadows. Necar Zadegan and Natalee Linez also star.

CIA premieres on February 28th. Are you going to watch?

Last Christmas is the #1 song in the world!
December 15th, 2025 under George Michael. [ Comments: none ]

In 1984, George Michael sang about giving away his heart the Christmas before. And now, 6 years after his death, Last Christmas is the #1 song on Billboard’s Global 200 after 18 weeks.

This is the first time the Wham timeless classic has topped the charts, knocking HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna & REI AMI’s Golden out of the top spot.

Take that, Mariah Carey, the former Queen of Christmas!

‘Tis the season for celebrity deaths
December 15th, 2025 under Obits. [ Comments: none ]

Many years ago, my old boss told me that this is the season when celebrities die. And sadly, he was right then, and he is right now.

Every year, I dread the end of the year because I know we are going to lose some great people, like Walt Disney, Charlie Chaplin, Betty White, George Michael, Carrie Fisher, Dean Martin, Eartha Kitt, my dad, and so many more.

In the last 24 hours, we added Rob Reiner and Anthony Geary to that list. The two worked together in 1971 on an episode of All in the Family, and 54 years later, they passed away together—one in an unfathomable way with his wife, and the other from a surgical complication.

You never know when it is going to be your time or anyone else’s. So don’t wait until Christmas or the New Year to tell someone you love them, do it today.

Since I am not a fan of writing obits anymore, I leave that up to my friends to do, and I post their obits in Hot Links. Just in case you were wondering why I don’t do them anymore.

Now, having that said that, thank you to Meat Head and Luke for the happy memories you gave all of us!

Christmas can’t come soon enough
December 15th, 2025 under Millie Bobby Brown. [ Comments: none ]

Forget unwrapping presents on Christmas Day; I am looking forward more to watching the next three episodes of Stranger Things after watching the trailer previewing Volume 2 of the final season.

The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.

I am supposed to go to my framily’s for the holiday, but I am thinking of cancelling to watch Stranger Things. Is that wrong?

The next three episodes drop at 1a GMT/8p EST/5p PST.
