I am not sure if you know this, but Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon have been feuding for over 20 years. Things are so bad between them that the former Oscar host never has time for the Oscar winner on his late night show.
However, Kimmel is forced to have him on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire this summer because Ken Jennings invited him to be his partner on the ABC game show. Because of that, Kimmel is planning his revenge on the Jeopardy host by bringing someone he hates onto his game show. Maybe he can bring Nancy Zerg with him; she is the person who ended Jennings’ 74-game streak.
Now, let’s go back to who else will be competing on WWTBAM this season. According to Us Weekly, the duos are: Joe Buck and Oliver Hudson, Helen Hunt and Dan Bucatinsky, Kal Penn and Jameela Jamil, Brad Goreski and Gary Janetti, Mike Birbiglia and Atsuko Okatsuka, Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry, Sarah Silverman and Marc Maron, Jordan Kepler and Ronny Chieng, Jillian Bell and Chloe Fineman, Community’s Joel McHale and Jim Rash, Workaholics’ Adam Devine and Anders Holm, The Office’s Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez, Whose Line Is It Anyways’ Drew Carey and Aisha Tyler, Deli Boys’ Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh, and CNN’s Jake Tapper and Kaitlan Collins.
Millionaire debuts on July 23rd. Which pair do you want to see play the most? I can’t wait to see the hosts from Whose Line Is It Anyway?
The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is my Super Bowl, but last year was a letdown. That is because they denied 15-time champ Joey Chestnut entry into the competition because he was a spokesperson for a plant-based meat company.
It was a huge mistake on Nathan’s part, and they learned their lesson. So today, the competition eater announced that he will be downing hot dogs in Coney Island on July 4th again.
Chestnut wrote, “I’m thrilled to be returning to the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. This event means the world to me. It’s a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life.
“While I have and continue to partner with a variety of companies, including some in the plant-based space, those relationships were never a conflict with my love for hot dogs. To be clear: Nathan’s is the only hot dog company I’ve ever worked with.
“I respect that there were differences in interpretation, but I’m grateful we’ve been able to find common ground.
“I’m excited to be back on the Coney Island stage, doing what I live to do, and celebrating the Fourth of July with hot dogs in my hands!”
And I am excited to see him with hot dogs in his mouth for a few seconds! This year is going to be extra fun for me because my niece is doing a student exchange program, and there is going to be a Korean student staying at my friends’ house on that day. Therefore, I am going to introduce her to an American tradition that they don’t have in Korea. That is, if my friends let me meet her because they don’t want America to have any more of a negative image than it already has, because of Trump.
A few months ago, Eric Dane revealed that he has ALS, a disease that slowly paralyzes your whole body until eventually you die from it. It is an awful way to go because your body can’t move, but your mind is still working as it was before you were diagnosed.
Since his diagnosis, Dane has not done any interviews. Today, he opened up to Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer about how his life has changed in the last year and a half when he started experiencing symptoms.
At first, his hand started to go numb. He went to a hand doctor, and then another one, who sent him to a neurologist, who sent him to another one. After nine months, he finally heard the three letters he never wanted to hear. He was told he has ALS.
Since then, he has lost the use of his right arm, which is his dominant side. For the time being, he has use of his left arm, but it is starting to go. And he is afraid that that arm will go in a few months.
But that is not what scares him most. It is leaving his daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, without a father at a young age. The actor lost his father to suicide at 7, so he knows what it is like to grow up without one.
“I mean, I really, at the end of the day, just, all I want to do is spend time with my family and work a little bit if I can,” he said, later telling Sawyer, “I don’t think this is the end of my story. I just don’t feel like, in my heart, I don’t feel like this is the end of me.*
And it is not the end of his acting. He is filming season 3 of Euphoria and is starring in Prime Video’s Countdown, which premieres on the 25th.
When I heard that Liam Nesson was cast in a Naked Gun reboot as Frank Drebin’s (the role perfected by the late Leslie Neilsen) son, I thought it was going to suck. And not in a good way.
Then, when I watched the teaser trailer, I only laughed at the O.J. Simpson joke. I thought I was right.
Today, I watched the full trailer and laughed a few times. But it is not enough for me to go see it on August 1st. I will wait until it is on Paramount+.
