Good Night, and Good Luck will air live on CNN
May 15th, 2025 under George Clooney. [ Comments: none ]

George Clooney is starring in the Broadway version of Good Night, and Good Luck. We will be able to watch him in his Tony-nominated performance live on CNN.

Mr. Clooney commented, “I can’t tell you how exciting it is to do something that’s never been done. CNN is the perfect place to bring this story of courage to so many more people than we could have ever hoped. Live TV. No net. Buckle up everyone.”

The play is a slice-of-life story about legendary newsman Edward R. Murrow and his news program, See It Now. They covered the McCarthy hearings in Congress, exposing the lies they were telling the American public. By doing so, McCarthy came for them.

Clooney played Fred W. Friendly in the 2005 theatrical version. However, on the Great White Way, he is playing Murrow.

Twenty years ago, when the film was released, it was just a historical production. Today, it feels like history is repeating itself.

I know this because I watched the film a few weeks ago. Personally, I found it boring and Clooney underwhelming. However, that is because I dislike him (and what the European resident did to the 2024 US election) and think he has become a pompous shit. Having said, I will be watching.

Believe it or not, I did not. But this is the first time that a Broadway play will air live from the stage. So, I am curious to see how it will go. And I hope it becomes something that happens more often.

While this is a first for CNN, it is not a first for Clooney. In 2009, he starred in a live production of Fail Safe on CBS.

Good Night and Good Luck will air live June 7th at 7p across all of CNN Platforms.

Michael J. Fox is going to guest star on Shrinking
May 15th, 2025 under Bill Lawrence, Michael J Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Credit: Mark Seliger

A few months ago, Bill Lawrence was talking about his show Shrinking, and he revealed that he based Harrison Ford’s Parkinson’s on the show on Michael J. Fox.

Lawrence and Fox worked together on Spin City and have remained friends since, so much so that Fox is going to be a guest star on Shrinking’s third season.

Apple TV+ did not reveal any details about Fox’s character, but I have a feeling we will need the tissues. If you cried during that scene in the season with Brett Goldstein, I think we will be crying even more than that.

If you have not watched Shrinking, it is worth subscribing just to watch it. I don’t know anyone who has seen it who did not fall in love with it.

What is, Aaron Sorkin got his own Jeopardy category?
May 15th, 2025 under Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

Aaron Sorkin is one of the most prolific television creators of the modern era. Because of that, Jeopardy not only gave him his own category, the game show also asked him to read the questions.

It would be questions like, “I have appeared in several of my movies and on television, how is my character been described in most of them?” The answer is, “What is a man in bar?”

Are the contestants fans of his work? Who isn’t? And the questions were not that easy.

Does Pat Sajak want his job back?
May 15th, 2025 under Ryan Seacrest, Wheel of Fortune. [ Comments: none ]

Last year, Pat Sajak retired from the daily version of Wheel of Fortune, but he kept his job at Celebrity Wheel of Fortune for another season.

Now that that season is coming to an end, it looks like Sajak is regretting his decision.

So he came up with a way to get his old jobs back. How? He locked his replacement, Ryan Seacrest, in his dressing room and threw away the key.

Well, I don’t know if he threw away the key, but I hope he did.

Do you miss Sajak spinning the Wheel, or do you like what Seacrest has been doing with it?
