I know people are all about the Star Wars shows on Disney+, but I am a Star Trek girl. So, I was excited to see that Paramount+ finally announced when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will debut its third season.
In season three, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve. An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, season three takes characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek.
If you are not familiar with the Star Trek universe, Captain Pike was featured in the pilot episode of the franchise, but that is where his story stops (after one more episode). So, SNW is the origin story of him running the Enterprise before Captain Kirk takes over. Therefore, you get to see a young Kirk, Spock, Zulu, and Uhura before we got to know them in the original series.
Along with the Enterprise’s first chapters being told, we also get to watch stories that only Star Trek can tell.
SNW debuts with two episodes on July 17th, and the season finale will air on September 11th.
Between 1983 and 1995, several stars, including Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Kevin James, and Drew Carey, were contestants on Star Search before they became stars. And now Netflix is looking for the next Brad Garrett or Usher.
Each week on Star Search, emerging performers in music, dance, comedy, and kids’ acts will take the stage to compete for a shot at the spotlight. The competition unfolds over time, with eliminations raising the stakes and plenty of surprises along the way. It’s part talent showcase, part high-stakes drama — and it’s all live on Netflix.
If you think you have what it takes to be the next Norm MacDonald or Billy Porter, then you can apply here.
As of now, the streamer has not named who will be the new Ed McMahon or Arsenio Hall, so I have two suggestions. They should ask Martin Lawrence, who competed on the show, or Marc Summers, who did the warm-up.
Bridgerton’s 4th season will not even debut in 2025, but that is not stopping Netflix from announcing today that the period love story will be back for two more seasons.
The fourth season, which debuts in 2026, turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.
The series is based on eight books. So, if Shonda Rhimes stays true to the novels, we should be getting two more seasons after that. That, and if people are still watching the next three seasons.
