The good news is that The Conners will be back for a seventh season. The bad news is that the Roseanne sequel will be ending after a shortened season. According to Variety, it might only be six episodes.
The Conners is ABC’s highest-rated sitcom, but it is also probably very expensive to produce due to John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Sara Gilbert’s salaries.
Are you going to miss it? Or, are you like me and think that this has been a long time coming?
ABC sent all of their unscripted series to Hollywood, and seven of them made it to the 2024-2035 season.
The lucky seven are American Idol (season 8 on ABC and 23rd overall), The Bachelor (season 29), and Celebrity Jeopardy! (season 3), Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (season 5), Dancing with the Stars (season 33), Shark Tank (season 16), and What Would You Do? (season 17).
ABC is going to be busy this summer looking for a replacement for Katy Perry, who is leaving American Idol at the end of this season. The network also needs to start looking at who can fill Mark Cuban’s wallet because the mogul announced that next season will be his last on Shark Tank.
You would think a show called Not Dead Yet would never die. But today, ABC announced the comedy starring Gina Rodriguez, Lauen Ash, and Brad Garrett will not be back for a third season.
The news is not surprising, but it still hurts. It was a sweet show that made you smile even when there were sad scenes.
Even though the show is ending, it had a satisfying season finale. Although, I would have liked to have seen where they could’ve gone.
