Last year, Jamie Foxx was forced to take the season off from Beat Shazam due to him suffering an undisclosed medical complication.

Now that he is recovered, he and his daughter, Corinne, are back hosting the Fox game show in May.

“Jamie and Corinne are the heart and soul of Beat Shazam,” said Allison Wallach, FOX Entertainment’s President of Unscripted Entertainment. “As our undeniably dynamic father-daughter hosting team, they bring a relationship like no other to a show like no other, and it’s wonderful having them back on set this season.”

The musical game show debuts on May 28th.

CBS is still tracking Tracker for next season
March 4th, 2024 under Justin Hartley. [ Comments: none ]

CBS loves Tracker so much that they held the premiere so that it would debut after the Super Bowl. And it was a smart move because the missing person procedural which stars Justin Hartley is doing really well in the ratings on Sunday nights.

How well? The network didn’t wait to pick it up for a second season, so they announced today that it will be back.

“TRACKER kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”

Is Loni Anderson really 78 years old?
March 4th, 2024 under Are they really their age?, Loni Anderson. [ Comments: none ]

Loni Anderson came out to sign autographs at the Hollywood Show this weekend in Burbank, and I can’t believe the WKRP in Cincinnati star is 78 years old. The actress looks just like she did in ’78. It is as though she stopped aging during that decade. And I am jealous. Because she was gorgeous then, and she is gorgeous now!

How Julia Roberts got James Marsden his Hairspray role?
March 4th, 2024 under Hairspray, James Marsden, Julia Roberts. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2006, Hairspray was one of the most sought-after movies, so the producers were careful who they chose to be in the film.

They were looking to cast either Ashton Kutcher or Jake Gyllenhall for the role of Corny Collins. But it didn’t work out. Instead, they went with James Marsden. And the actor told Vanity Fair how he landed the part.

He went to a bar on Off-Broadway to meet producers Adam Shankman, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron. While they were talking, Julia Roberts came over and told Marsden that she loved him in The Notebook.

With that, Shankman said, “I guess we’d be kind of stupid to say no to the guy that Julia Roberts just said hello to and loves your work.”

And the rest is Hollywood history!
