Lady Gaga will be performing at the Oscars afterall
March 12th, 2023 under Lady Gaga, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

Lady Gaga received her fourth Oscar nomination this year. Her single Hold My Hand from Top Gun Maverick is nominated for Best Original Song.

Therefore, we expected her to sing at tonight’s Academy Awards. However, on Wednesday, Oscar producer Glenn Weiss said she would not be performing because she is too busy working on Joker: Folie à Deux and wouldn’t be able to give an Oscar-worthy performance.

That was then. Today, Variety is reporting that she will be singing after all. She will be joined by Rihanna (Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, David Byrne (This Is Life from Everything, Everywhere, All at Once), Stephanie Hsu and Son Lux (Naatu Naatu from RRR), and Sofia Carson and Diane Warren (Applause from Tell It Like a Woman), who will be singing their nominated songs.

Do you think Lady Gaga will bring home her second Oscar statuette tonight? She previously won in this category for Shallow from A Star is Born.

Glenn Close is out of the Oscars due to COVID
March 12th, 2023 under Coronavirus, Glenn Close, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

Eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close was supposed to be a presenter at tonight’s Academy Awards, but she had to cancel on them at the last minute because she tested positive for COVID-19.

Her rep to the Associated Press that “she is isolating and resting.
Hopefully, she will be better soon.

As of now, the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences has not announced who will be replacing her. I think they should have someone dressed in a COVID red ball present for her.

Ashley Johnson gives birth to her The Last of Us character
March 12th, 2023 under HBO Max. [ Comments: none ]

Did you know that little Chrissy Seaver from Growing Pains is the voice of Ellie in the three The Last of Us video games? She is.

And on tonight’s season finale of The Last of Us, she will be playing Ellie’s mom Anna when she was pregnant with her daughter. How cool is that? I wonder if that is a video game to screen first?

Also, isn’t it incredible how much Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie on the HBO show, looks like Johnson when she starred with Betty White and Marie Osmond on Maybe This Time? It is uncanny.

History of the World: Part II gets its own game!
March 10th, 2023 under Hulu, Mel Brooks. [ Comments: none ]

Are you sad that History of the World: Part II is over, and we have to wait until Hulu decides to greenlight History of the World Part III as they teased? Then I have some good news for you. They came up with an interactive game we can play until Jews in Space is a real thing. Although, MTG says that Jews are already up there shooting lasers down on us.

Anyways, back to the game. In the digital gaming experience, fans encounter the show’s colorful characters voiced by the star-studded cast with Ike Barinholtz, Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, and of course, the formidable Mel Brooks. The show’s mastermind is no stranger to video games, as Brooks has been involved with several previous gaming projects.

The interactive website version of the History of the World: Part II gaming experience embraces the crass humor and absurd silliness of the show (and makes no apologies) for an unforgettable, unique experience with plenty of memorable features like the fact that the world didn’t begin with a ‘big bang’ – it was actually ‘The Big Burp.’ Players will feel like they’re part of the show as they experience various historical recreations, from Amelia Earhart to Noah’s Dog Park, and more.

The game will be available to download for free next week on Xbox until March 31st and for your desktop and mobile phone until July 6th. I have already played a few rounds, and I am loving it. Even though my cat hates Noah’s Dog Park as much as she hated the bit in the series.

Is it Lady Gaga or her wax figure?
March 10th, 2023 under Lady Gaga, Madame Tussauds. [ Comments: none ]

Lady Gaga will be at the Oscars on Sunday, but her look from the 2019 Academy Awards was immortalized by Madame Tussauds Hollywood. That was the year she won Best Original Song for Shallow from A Star Is Born.

So it makes sense the wax museum would capture one of her best nights. Not only because she won but because she looked gorgeous. The singer wore a black strapless Alexander McQueen gown, black leather gloves, and a 128.54-carat yellow diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co.

She mashed up old and new Hollywood with her styling from head to toe that night. So who wouldn’t want to see her look like that again? And if you can’t go to the Oscars, Madame Tussauds, which is a block away, is the next best thing.
