Tonight at the Grammys, Beyoncé won her 31st and 32nd Grammys. Why is that so newsworthy? With her 31st win, she tied Georg Solti for the most Grammys, a title the late Hungarian-British orchestral and operatic conductor held since 1997. So by winning her 32nd Grammy statuette, that title is all hers. And I don’t think anyone is going to take that away anytime soon.
However, traffic took away her chance to accept the Grammy Best R&B Song, Cuff It, in person. But she did make it there in time to give the speech for winning her record-breaking Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album, Renaissance. Congrats to the Queen.
Here is another fun fact. Beyoncé also holds the title for most Grammy nominations. Well, actually, she is tied for that honor. Do you want to know who she is tied with? Her husband, Jay-Z. I feel bad for him when they fight because she can be like, “I have more Grammy than you do, even though we have the same amount of noms.” He has 23, compared to her 32.
Oh, to her accept her record-breaking award, then click here!
Tonight, Viola Davis won a Grammy for Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording, Finding Me. And she found her way to the elite EGOT status.
That means she has won at least an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. She previously won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, How to Get Away with Murder, An Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Fences, and two Tonys for Best Featured Actress in a Play, King Hedley II and Fences.
Congrats to the talented actress for becoming the 18th member to join the club with such other respected artists as Rita Moreno, Helen Hayes, Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Alan Menken.
That ’90s Show was one of the most anticipated comedies to ever debut on Netflix. Therefore, it makes sense that they wasted no time giving the sequel to That ’70s Show a second season with 16 episodes. That and since its debut on January 19th, it has already been viewed for 41 million hours. I know; I contributed to that viewing total.
“All of us at That ‘90s Show were beyond excited by the warm, enthusiastic response to our first season. We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello 1996!” said Gregg Mettler, Co-Creator/Showrunner/Executive Producer.
If you haven’t seen it, light a doobie and binge it this weekend. I promise you will love it as much as everyone who has seen it.
