Al Roker has spent most of November in the hospital due to blood clots from his legs traveling to his heart. He was finally released on Thanksgiving but was rushed back to the hospital on Friday.
A source told Page Six, “Al was taken from his home in a stretcher back to the hospital on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. His condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved.”
The 68-year-old weatherman will miss tonight’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting.
Hopefully, he will be better soon, at home and back to doing what he loves.
For some reason, when they make big-budget Creature Features these days, the people behind the scenes make the film very serious.
However, Universal is taking it back old school and making us laugh with Cocaine Beer. At least, I was cracking up during the trailer for the movie “inspired by true events.”
That’s right, “true events”. Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow … and blood.
What more do you need to end the month of February than a bear high on coke? I can’t think of anything better, so set a date for February 24th!
BTW I hope someone like The Asylum does a copycat movie like Pot Bear, a bear going around killing people because he has the munchies.
Sherri Shepherd might be hosting a daytime talk show in Manhattan, but she is not too good to take an NYC subway to work.
The host shared some videos of her on the train and no one cared who she was. She wrote, “Something about taking the A train (and I am good. Nobody recognizes me because people are too worried about life to be bothered about a talk show host😂) … hello New York!”
Gotta love New Yorkers. We don’t care who anyone is. That is why so many celebrities love living there. They can be Average Joes if they want to be.
Believe it or not. Sigourney Weaver’s parents didn’t name her Sigourney. They called their baby girl Susan. However, when she was 11, she decided to change her first name.
Yesterday when the actress was on Live with Kelly and Ryan, she told them how she came up with the name we call her now.
“I was reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The name Sigourney is mentioned once,” the star said. “I looked at that. It had my initial, and then it had this waxy-long name. And I thought, ‘Oh, I am just going to use it for a while til I can figure out who I am.'”
Since Weaver has been using the name for over 60 years, we can all agree that she found out she is a Sigourney, which totally works for her. She stands out in a group of Susans, so why shouldn’t she go by a name that stands out like her?
What did her parents think of her changing their name? Well, her father was born Sylvester, but everyone called him Pat. While her mom went by Liz even though her parents called her Desiree. So it is just the Weaver thing to do!
