BTWF: Michael J Fox for McDonald’s
April 15th, 2022 under Before They Were Famous, Michael J Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Before Michael J Fox was getting his first kiss on Family Ties, he already got one, thanks to McDonald’s. How precious was the 18-year-old in that 1980 commercial?

About Damn Time that Lizzo released some new music
April 14th, 2022 under Lizzo. [ Comments: 1 ]

Lizzo has been busy making TikToks, working on her reality show Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, getting into the shapewear business with Yitty, and hitting the road. So I assumed she was too busy to make some new music while she was doing all of that. I was wrong.

Today, the singer released her new song, About Damn Time, and announced it is the first single off of her upcoming album. Special will be released on July 15th, and you can preorder it here.

If all of the songs sound like this dance track, then she has another hit record on her hands.

Watch her sing and act this weekend on Saturday Night Live when she is both the host and the performer. I bet she is going to surprise and wow us all.

Which film did Rob Reiner say was the best film experience of his life?
April 14th, 2022 under Jerry O'Connell/Rebecca Romijn. [ Comments: none ]

https://youtu.be/WGQYTaBT3-M

Rob Reiner has directed some legendary movies like The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, and This Is Spinal Tap, to name a few. But which one does he say was the best experience of his life? A little film called Stand By Me, and 35 years later, he is still standing by the cast.

Today, when Wil Wheaton was reunited with his castmate Jerry O’Connell on The Talk, the director recorded a message for his two stars. Reiner complimented the film and left the actors speechless and humbled by his words. Especially when he told the fat kid from the movie that they “didn’t know that Jerry would turn out as handsome” as he is now.

Another takeaway from this mini-reunion is that O’Connell hasn’t changed since he was 11. He is still the infectious happy, nice guy that everyone wants to be around.

And now that we know that the Wheaton and O’Connell still get along, why can’t Steven King right a sequel to The Body. So that this way, we can get a sequel to Stand By Me.

Which celeb missed out on the George Foreman Grill?
April 14th, 2022 under DIscovery Networks/Discovery+. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2LXEvYDgVU

There are a lot of inventions that changed history, but how many are as fun as the ones featured on Discovery+’s Inventions That Changed History.

The next two episodes of the series are out now. They delve into the history of The Clapper,
George Foreman Grill, The Snuggie, Pet Rock, Roomba, Fanny Pack, Garbage Pail Kids, Fidget Spinners, Hula Hoop, Shake Weight, The Wave, Stripper Pole, Beach Ball, Pogo Stick, and Thighmaster.

Some of these inventions have celebrities attached to them. However, they were not the first choice. For example, the company behind the indoor grill wanted a different person for their brand, but he missed their call. So instead, George Foreman got it and the money. However, he didn’t get as much as Suzanne Somers, who got the last laugh on her Three’s Company co-star Joyce DeWitt. The latter said no to the Thightmaster. What a schmuck. And there is one famous person who should be asking for a cut because they inspired one of the inventions above.

Some of these inventions go back thousands of years and were just improved upon in the 1900s. Can you guess which one? And do you want to see the man who started The Wave?

Some inventors made millions, and then others got screwed because they didn’t get a patent. See which items didn’t make their creators rich because of that. And see how one company was able to get a patent on something that was easily cloned.

One of the inventors went on to win the Pulitzer Prize. Obviously, it is not because of what we see in the episode.

And finally, we find out how the Pet Rock was born. Even though that is my favorite invention of the last century, I never knew how it came about until now. Its origin story is even better than I dreamed.

That is why I love this series so much. You never know what you are going to learn. Granted, I am still pissed that I had to throw out my Sea Monkeys because of what they shared about their creator’s past. Although, I was able to overlook the past of the man behind the mood ring. Like I said, you never know what they are going to reveal, and that makes this series even more interesting.

Here’s the trailer for the final Grace & Frankie episodes
April 14th, 2022 under Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

As we know, Grace & Frankie is ending, and the final episode will begin streaming on April 29th.

We also know that Dolly Parton is going to guest star. However, we don’t see the three 9 to 5 ladies together again. What we do see is Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen, and Sam Waterston having some more fun together before they say goodbye to their characters forever.

After watching this trailer, I hope we, the fans, get a good ending because this show deserves to end in a way that won’t leave us bitter. Especially because they never made the lube or vibrator available, and I really wanted both of them to play with. That was such a missed oppurtunity.
