What is, can this Final Jeopardy question be any easier?
March 17th, 2022 under Jeopardy, Matthew McConaughey. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday on Jeopardy, they asked the contestants, “Matthew McConaughey said, ‘Dazed and Confused, the first words I’ve ever said on film were’ these.”

As soon as Ken Jennings read the question, I knew I was going to do alright, alright, alright. And I assume you felt the same way. I mean, that question is worth like $200 during regular play.

So there should be no way that anyone would miss that answer? Right? Wrong. The now-former champion didn’t get it. And now everything in the world is not alright, alright, alright.

Seriously, if you asked anyone what words do you think of when you hear Matthew McConaughey’s name, everyone but Amy Bekkerman would say that one word three times. I bet you did!

Patrick Renna is a redhead. Therefore, people assume that The Big Green star is going to crazy for St. Patrick’s Day. So he did.

After watching his jig, I have to say my Irish Cap is off for him.

This is the role that Kelly Ripa was born to play
March 17th, 2022 under Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. [ Comments: none ]

The Oscars are ten days away, and Live with Kelly and Ryan is preparing to come out here to cover the movie’s biggest night. Therefore, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest are getting into character. Not their characters but the ones who are nominated for an Academy Award.

Today, the daytime talk show shared a video of Ripa as Tammy Faye Bakker. As much as I think Jessica Chastain deserves the Oscar, I am beginning to wonder if they cast the wrong actress in the part. I mean, Ripa totally embodies the role.

Hopefully, Ripa will get to play Tammy Faye when Ryan Murphy does a season about the preacher’s wife. Why hasn’t he because the disgraced couple seem right up his alley?

Dionne Warwick doesn’t care about being nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
March 17th, 2022 under Andy Cohen, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton. [ Comments: none ]

On Monday, Dolly Parton bowed out of her nomination to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because she says she is not worthy of the honor. Shortly after that, Dionne Warwick told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she is also not interested in being inducted because she is not a Rock’n’Roller.

Warwick then went on to say they should rename it the Music Hall of Fame so musicians of all genres would feel welcome. And I think she has a point. Of the five musicians that are currently in the lead, only Pat Benatar is a Rocker. Duran Duran and Eurythmics are New Wave, Parton is Country, and Eminem is Rap.

So, if Dolly dropped out, does that mean that Judas Priest, who are Rockers, will be inducted instead? The Rock & Roll Foundation released the below statement:

All of us in the music community have seen Dolly Parton’s thoughtful note expressing her feeling that she has not earned the right to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to her incredible talent as an artist, her humility is another reason Dolly is a beloved icon by millions of fans around the world.

From its inception, Rock and Roll has had deep roots in Rhythm & Blues and Country music. It is not defined by any one genre, rather a sound that moves youth culture. Dolly Parton’s music impacted a generation of young fans and influenced countless artists that followed. Her nomination to be considered for induction into to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame followed the same process as all other artists who have been considered.

Dolly’s nomination, along with the other 16 artists for the class of 2022, was sent out earlier this month to our 1,200 general ballot voters, the majority of whom are artists themselves, for consideration for induction at our ceremony.

We are in awe of Dolly’s brilliant talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have nominated her for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

So, I guess the answer is yes. Therefore, we will have to see if she is inducted, will she show up to the party.

I know of one band, who almost didn’t show up because they were expected to pay for their tickets and were encouraged to buy a table. It is not that they didn’t have the money, they were against it in principal. If only I knew then to tell him how my friend paid to accept his Tony award, an award that wasn’t even presented on television.
