BTWF: Kristen Stewart for Porsche
March 22nd, 2022 under Before They Were Famous, Kristen Stewart. [ Comments: none ]

Before Kristen Stewart had strangers driving her around in Spencer, she was driven to school by her dad in his Porsche. She looks the same now as she did when she was 9 in that 1999 commercial.

The Love Boat is getting a reality show
March 22nd, 2022 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS is bringing back The Love Boat, but not the way we know. Instead, it is going to be a dating show with no celebrities.

The Real Love Boat is described as it “brings singles together to cruise the Mediterranean on a luxury cruise ship while looking for love. Destination dates, challenges and surprise singles will test the couples’ compatibility and chemistry. Like the beloved original scripted series, the indispensable crew members including “captain” and “cruise director” will play pivotal roles in the matchmaking and navigation of the romantic (and sometimes turbulent) waters ahead.

“After almost a month at sea, only one winning couple will make it to the final port and take home a cash prize plus a once-in-a-lifetime trip courtesy of Princess Cruises, the series’ exclusive cruise line partner.”

So basically, absolutely nothing like the original series. But let’s say it is. I would rather they bring it back as a scripted show than whatever this is.

Will you watch or do you think it should make like the Titanic and sink?

The CW’s lucky 7 for next season
March 22nd, 2022 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

The CW normally picks up all of its shows for the following season. However, not this year. They only picked up seven of their series for the 2022-2023 year. Those shows are All American, The Flash, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Superman & Lois and Walker.

“As we prepare for the 2022-23 season, these scripted series, along with the alternative series we renewed earlier, will serve as the start of a solid foundation utilizing some of our most-watched series for us to build on for next year and beyond,” said Pedowitz. “These dramas are also important to our overall digital strategy, as they are some of our most-streamed and socially-engaged programming, and we look forward to adding more new and returning series to help strengthen and expand our multiplatform footprint.”

So what is missing? My favorite Dynasty, along with 4400, All American: Homecoming, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, DC’s Stargirl, Legacies, Naomi, Roswell, New Mexico. It will be interesting to see what they pick up and what they cancel.

And just like that, And Just Like That gets a second season
March 22nd, 2022 under Sex and the City. [ Comments: none ]

And Just Like That

HBO Max gave Sex and the City a sequel series called And Just Like That. Even though it wasn’t as well-received by the fans, the series still had a lot of them. Therefore, the streaming service announced today that it will be back for a second season.

Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max, said, “We have been delighted by the cultural conversation generated by these characters and their stories, set in a world we already know and love so much. We are proud of the work Michael Patrick King and our wonderful writers, producers, cast and crew have done to bring these stories to the screen. We can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store for season 2!”

If HBO Max is smart, then they will stop listening to Cynthia Nixon, who turned the drama into her personal soapbox. We get enough of that IRL. We don’t need it during our break from it.

Are you having a Cosmo in honor of the renewal, or do you want to throw it on them?

Do you want Weird Al Yankovic to sing Happy Birthday to You to you?
March 22nd, 2022 under Weird Al Yankovic. [ Comments: none ]

Weird Al Yankovic is having a busy 2022. He is going back on the road, he just finished working on a biopic that is going to air on Roku, and yet he still had time to do something for us.

The Shlock Rocker teamed up with American Greetings for a Smash Up birthday greeting card. All you have to do is find your name or your loved one’s name and how old they are going to be. Once you have that, you can preview the special way Weird Al sings Happy Birthday.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Mildred and Patty, the Hill sisters… and it was an honor to perform one of their all-time biggest hits – ‘Happy Birthday to You’ – especially now that it’s public domain,” joked Yankovic. “Plus I got to write and perform my OWN original birthday song for this project as well, which was a lot of fun. I remember when my friend Donny Osmond personally sent me his SmashUp a couple years ago – it completely blew my mind, and I knew right then that I wanted to do my OWN SmashUp, so that I could blow people’s minds too!”

This is the type of gift you can give anyone, including today’s birthday boy William Shatner. I mean, because what do you get a 91-year-old who has been to Space? You get him a Weird Al singing birthday telegram.

On that note, my birthday is April 1st, and guess what I want? A million dollars to pay for gas and a birthday card from Weird Al Yankovic.
