Mark Hoppus shares the texts that started how he knew he had cancer
August 25th, 2021 under Blink-182. [ Comments: none ]

Mark Hoppus/Instagram

Back in June, Mark Hoppus revealed that he has diffuse large B-cell lymphoma Stage 4-A. Today, he shared the texts he sent when he knew something was wrong in April, so he reached out to his doctor.

How it started…
Tues, Apr 20, 7:34 AM
Mark: Hi Jill. For the past couple days I’ve had this dull sore lump in my shoulder kind of right where it connects to my neck that could either be fatal lymphoma or a sore muscle. At what point should I be concerned and have it looked at?

Jill: I need to see you!

Mark: Okay, I can come in this afternoon?
Or this morning I just have a radio show to tape at noon

Tue, Apr 20, 9:55 AM
Jill: 4:15 pm work?

Mark – Yep! See you then! Thanks again

He followed up the texts with a photo of himself showing how it is going now as he is beating the cancer with the help of chemo.

Hopefully, in a blink, he will be cancer-free and back on the road again with Blink-182. Especially now that Travis Barker is flying again.

The show will go on for The Rolling Stones
August 25th, 2021 under Rolling Stones. [ Comments: none ]

The Rolling Stones lost their founding member Charlie Watts yesterday at the age of 80.

They are slated to start their US tour on September 26th in Missouri. Therefore, it would not be surprising if they decided to postpone it so that they can continue to mourn their drummer’s death.

However, The Sun is reporting that will start it up as planned. A music insider told the paper, “The band want to make the show a celebration of his life.

“He was like a brother to them but they know he would have hated the thought of them cancelling shows.

“Charlie had given them his blessing to tour without him following his operation so that they will honour his wishes.”

Watts had already pulled out of the concerts, and he was replaced by a different drummer. So it is not like the band isn’t prepared to play as one. But emotionally, that is another story.

Instead of painting the towns red, they will paint it black in his memory.

Michael Winslow’s America’s Got Talent performance gets the dogs’ votes
August 25th, 2021 under America's Got Talent, Animals. [ Comments: none ]

You might not know Michael Winslow’s name, but you know the sounds he makes with his mouth from the Police Academy franchise. It has been a while since we have gotten a sequel, so he decided to audition for America’s Got Talent. The comedian made such an impression the judges put him through to the next round, and yesterday he performed on the live show in the quarter finals.

Winslow did a bit about Simon Cowell’s dogs and imitated what the pooches sound like. Well, when Xavi heard the impression, the French Bulldog thought it was the real thing. Therefore, he started barking at the television screen. It was his way of telling his furrent to vote Winslow through to the next round.

Did enough dogs vote him through? We will find out tonight on NBC.

The Nirvana Nevermind baby is suing the band for child pornography
August 25th, 2021 under Lawsuits. [ Comments: none ]

Spencer Elden has been famous for almost all of his life, and now he is seeking compensation for it. You might not know his name or his face now, but you have known him since he was a baby. That is because we saw all of him on the cover of Nirvana’s Nevermind album.

Even though he has talked positively about it and recreated the photograph, he is now changing his tune.

His lawyers filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles claiming that the defendants involved “knowingly produced, possessed, and advertised commercial child pornography,” that they “failed to take reasonable steps to protect Spencer and prevent his widespread sexual exploitation,” that they’ve continued “to benefit from their participation in Spencer’s commercial sexual exploitation,” and that Spencer “has suffered and will continue to suffer lifelong damages.”

According to Rolling Stone, the defendants are surviving band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, the three people who oversee Kurt Cobain’s estate (Courtney Love, Guy Oseary, and Heather Parry), photographer Kirk Weddle, art director Robert Fisher, and various record companies and distributors. In addition, the band’s former drummer Chad Channing is also being sued, even though he was not involved with the album.

How much compensation does Elden want? He wants court fees plus $150,000 per defendant.

I think he would have a better case if he didn’t so many positive interviews about it throughout the years.

Kanye West wants to legally go by YE from now on
August 25th, 2021 under Kanye West. [ Comments: none ]

Kim Kardashian will legally ask a judge to remove West from her name after the divorce. While her soon-to-be ex-husband is asking one to get rid of the Kan and West from his.

He filed papers in LA to legally only go by YE from now on, according to Today.

I bet a judge will grant his request long before he releases Donda.
