Chicago Med is going into its seventh season, and that means the contracts are up for the medical drama’s original cast members. As of today, we know that two of the actors have decided to leave the show. They are Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto.
DeCosta plays nurse April Sexton, and it looks like her character will leave the ED to go to med school. At the same time, DeVitto’s character Dr. Natalie Manning has been stealing experimental medicine to give to her mom.
Both actresses already have their next jobs lined up. DeCosta is joining Fox’s Our Kind of People, and DeVitto will star in the Independent film Skelly, according to Deadline.
S. Epatha Merkerson is said to have signed her contract, while Oliver Platt, Nick Gehlfuss, Brian Tee, and Marlyne Barrett are still working on their deals.
Back to the actresses, are you upset that they are leaving? I feel like the writers have done as much as they can with their characters, and there is nowhere else they can take them. I think the other roles still have some room for the producers to create some interesting storylines. Although, I feel like Gehlfuss’ character could be getting close to them running out of ideas for Dr. Will Halstead.
Kelly Clarkson was a household name because she was the first person to win American Idol. But then, people were screaming her name for a different reason. They were screaming it just like Steve Carrell did when he had chest waxed in 40 Year Old Virgin.
That line was written by Seth Rogen, and today the Daytime Talk Show host called him out on it. “Well, I am terribly sorry,” he said to her. “I owe you an apology.”
Rogen then went on to explain how he came up with the joke. He was a co-producer/writer on the movie, and Judd Apatow wanted Carrell’s character to scream out nonsensical things as he was getting his chest hairs ripped out of his body. Apatow instructed the writers that he wanted clean and dirty things for Carrell to say. Rogen was home watching television, and Clarkson came on. The actor says in comedy, ka-sounding words are considered funny. Kelly Clarkson has two kas in her name, so that is why she was perfect for that joke.
When did Clarkson first hear about it? She went to the movies with her friends. As she was entering the theater, she heard her name being yelled out, but she didn’t know why. Then someone explained to her that Carrell did it in the trailer for the movie that was just previewed.
That was the first time she heard it, but it was not the last. Wherever she goes, people stop her and belt out her name. They don’t know her songs, but they do know that scene. And she has not problem with it.
Ellen DeGeneres had a long talk with the staff of her show yesterday, and she revealed to them that next season will be her last one. She told The Hollywood Reporter that this decision was years in the making and not related to all of the rumors about her being abusive that came out last year.
“I was going to stop after season 16. That was going to be my last season and they wanted to sign for four more years and I said I’d sign for maybe for one. They were saying there was no way to sign for one. ‘We can’t do that with the affiliates and the stations need more of a commitment.’ So, we [settled] on three more years and I knew that would be my last,” Ellen told THR. “That’s been the plan all along. And everybody kept saying, even when I signed, ‘You know, that’s going to be 19, don’t you want to just go to 20? It’s a good number.’ So is 19. [Laughs]”
Ellen went on to say that she is a creative person, and she needs a new outlet to be creative because the show is not challenging her anymore. However, she does not share with them what she wants to do next.
The Daytime Talk Show host also talked about how the rumors of her being mean affected her but not the show. “It almost impacted the show. It was very hurtful to me. I mean, very. But if I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn’t have come back this season,” she said to them. “So, it’s not why I’m stopping but it was hard because I was sitting at home, it was summer, and I see a story that people have to chew gum before they talk to me and I’m like, ]’Okay, this is hilarious.’ Then I see another story of some other ridiculous thing and then it just didn’t stop. And I wasn’t working, so I had no platform, and I didn’t want to address it on [Twitter] and I thought if I just don’t address it, it’s going to go away because it was all so stupid.”
I think we all knew this was coming. She has been only been working four days on the show, and the fifth day is being helmed by a guest host. That is what Johnny Carson did at the end of the tenor, so it felt like something was coming. And it happened.
When it comes to the guest hosts, I wonder if that is NBC and Warner Bros’ way of auditioning people to be her replacement. That is if NBC wants to continue doing a talk show. They might decide to do an hour of news or possibly add a game show to their schedule.
What do you want to replace Ellen? Are you going to miss her?
So you are having a party, and you want to serve pasta. But how are you going to serve it so that everyone can serve themselves and clean up will be easy? If you are Lisa, you just put all the ingredients on your kitchen counter and mix it all up. Then you let everyone take what they want and pray they are not klutzes. As we know, cleaning up marinara sauce is not fun nor easy.
Now, let’s go back to the preparation. Would you pour tomato sauce, meatballs, parmesan cheese, and spaghetti all over your counter and then mix it up? There is no way in hell I would do that. I wouldn’t even eat off of it. No. No. No. Did I say no?
If this didn’t gross you out enough, Lisa did this with other meals like nachos. I don’t know how that countertop is as white as it is with all of the messy food she puts on it.
While I would never do this, would you? I told my friends that they have been doing Thanksgiving all wrong, and they should do this, this year? Well, long story short, I need a new place to go to this November.
