TBS is bringing back Miracle Workers for a third season, and they are doing a time jump. The first season of the anthology series took place in heaven with Steve Buscemi playing Gd. In the second season, he came down to earth during medieval times, and he was demoted to a sh!t shoveler.
What will he be doing during the third season? TBS says, “Set in the year 1844, the new season of MIRACLE WORKERS will follow an idealistic small-town preacher (Daniel Radcliffe) who teams up with a wanted outlaw (Buscemi) and a liberated prairie wife (Geraldine Viswanathan) to lead a wagon train west on the Oregon Trail across an American landscape which, much like today, is fraught with both promise and peril.”
Radcliffe went from a worker in heaven to a Prince and now is a preacher. I cannot wait to see what they do to both men for the fourth season.
Before we get there, you need to watch all the other seasons. Not because you won’t be able to follow the show if you don’t. You need to watch it because they do some of the funniest things you will ever see on television. I mean, how can you not want to watch a show with a sh!t shoveler?
This week, Andrew updates his Spotify playlist with some of the key tracks that influenced him when writing @JCSSTheMusical. Who would've thought Andrew was @ledzeppelin fan! – #TeamALWpic.twitter.com/YON3ru4Df8
It has been 50 years since Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the music for Jesus Christ Superstar. Today, he added two songs to his Spotify playlist that he says inspired some of the tunes from the musical.
The first song was The Immigrant Song from Led Zeppelin because they were recording in the studio next door to them at the time. I think that the legendary band influenced What’s the Buzz, The Temple, and Damned For All Time/Blood Money.
The other song is Joe Cocker’s take on With a Little Help From My Friends because the sexy, raspy singer’s band worked on JCS. As soon as ALW said that, all I could hear in my head, was I Don’t Know How to Love Him.
Do you hear Zepplin and Cocker’s influence in JCS now, or is it just me?
Over the summer, when the crap was hitting the fan for Ellen Degeneres, fans petitioned for Eric Andre to get her job. When the comedian sat down with Vanity Fair, they wanted to know what he thought about that.
“We have a psychopath in the White House and we’re in the longest war of all time. It seems like small potatoes compared to the world crumbling into these right-wing authoritarian dictatorships and these industrialized nations,” he says. “Boohoo, Ellen was mean. Who gives a sh!t? I never thought she was nice! She seems like she’d be like, ‘Fucking get me a coffee! Now!’”
“Is that what cancel culture’s devolved to? ‘That guy’s not nice!’ James Corden is f*cked if that’s the only criteria to get called out,” Andre continues, laughing mordantly. “James Corden and Lorne Michaels are screwed! They’re trembling in their fucking boots.”
Back when people were coming forward about Degeneres being mean, I read that others were saying the same about Corden. They said that he was also could be cruel to the staff. After I read that, I could, kind of, see it. Now, I totally see it. The same way I saw it with Ellen, but I had already known that about her.
I could not find any videos of Andre being on The Late Late Show, so I used one with Conan O’Brien instead. When it comes to Conan, I have only heard good things about him from the people who work with him and many others.
When it comes to Andre, I am not a fan of his. To me, he comes off as a huge d!ck. Thus, if he says someone is mean, then imagine how mean they are…
The other day, it was reported that there is a scene in Borat Subsequent Movie Film in which Rudy Giuliani is seen putting his hand in his pants while alone in the bedroom with a 15-year-old female reporter. He denies that it was anything more than him tucking in his shirt, but the video says otherwise.
Yesterday, Borat made a video defending the former NYC mayor. He says, “What was an innocent sexy time encounter with a consenting man and my 15-year-old daughter, have been turned into something disgusting by fake news media.”
Today, Sacha Baron Cohen and Maria Bakalova (the actress who plays his daughter) were on one of the fake news media programs, and they talked about the scene. Cohen told Good Morning America, “If the president’s lawyer found what he did there appropriate behavior, then heaven knows what he’s doing with other female journalists in hotel rooms.” Well, Giuliani did have an affair with and married a reporter, so we don’t want to know the answer to the question.
Anyway, Cohen then went on to say to watch the movie and judge for yourself. However, he feels that it was pretty obvious what was happening there.
When it was time for Bakalova to answer the question, she grabbed Cohen’s arm and said, “I want to thank you.” Then she added, “I was not sure you were going to save me from everything.”
Cohen said he was watching from a hideaway location, and he was concerned for his actress. “It is my responsibility as a producer, as well, to ensure that the lead actor is looked after.”
However, she does clarify that she always felt safe because the crew always had her back.
