BTWF: Seth MacFarlane in The Gilmore Girls
March 25th, 2020 under Before They Were Famous, Seth MacFarlane. [ Comments: none ]

Before Seth MacFarlane was a douchey talking teddy bear in Ted, he was a dick on the Gilmore Girls. He hasn’t changed a single bit since he was 28 in that 2002 episode.

New Amsterdam pulls its epidemic episode with Daniel Dae Kim
March 25th, 2020 under Coronavirus, Ryan Eggold. [ Comments: none ]

New Amsterdam is based on NY’s Bellvue Hospital, a real-life hospital that is going through hell right now during the Coronavirus.

The show was expected to fictionalize an episode with their hospital being hit by a flu epidemic, and Daniel Dae Kim, who tested positive for COVID-19, plays a patient on it. He is not the only member of the show’s family to test positive. In light of everything going on, it will not be one of the remaining episodes that airs this season.

New Amsterdam creator, executive producer, and showrunner Schulner explained the decision to Deadline, “The world needs a lot less fiction right now, and a lot more facts.

“We showed what happens when our hospital has to erect tents in the parking lot because every bed is taken.” Something NYC is actually seeing on their streets today.

New Amsterdam will air repeats at 9p for the next two weeks and then the season finale will air on April 14th at that time. The epidemic episode is expected to air at a different date.

Conan O’Brien tries plumbing
March 25th, 2020 under Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Now that Conan O’Brien is home, he has a lot of time on his hands. Therefore, he is putting his hands to use.

When Conan noticed that one of the sinks was dripping water, he decided to fix it. How did he do? Better than I thought he was going to do. You have to watch what he does because it is pretty shocking.

I bet Monday cannot come soon enough for his wife. That is when he goes back to work on his TBS show. Sadly, for his wife, he is doing it from their home.

The curtain goes down on the Tony Awards, for now
March 25th, 2020 under Broadway, Coronavirus. [ Comments: none ]

The Tony Awards announced today that the show will not go on on June 7th as planned because of Coronavirus. Don’t worry that fat lady has not sung yet because the show will be rescheduled once the lights on Broadway go on again. As of now, the curtain is expected to go up on April 12th, but I doubt it will be that soon.

It was not an easy decision, but they say, “The health and safety of the Broadway community, artists and fans are of the utmost importance to us.” Sadly Broadway legendary writer Terrence McNally passed away from the virus, while Moulin Rouge’s Aaron Tveit has tested positive.

When it is time for them to do the show, I am sure it will be the most spectacular show is Tony history! They should have Billy Porter host the Great White Way’s biggest night with some help from Lin-Manuel Miranda.

This has to be the 💩tiest place for a reporter to do a standup
March 25th, 2020 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Reporters do standups from the 💩tiest locations, but WNEP’s Scott Schaffer did one a sitdown from the 💩tiest place of them all. He did one inside a closed portapotty.

The anchor hosts a weekly segment called Talkback Feedback, and he came up with an interesting place to film it this week. I wonder how quickly he regretted that decision. Even it didn’t spell like piss and poop; the cleaning products are just as bad. So nasty and gross!

When I worked in Miami, I judged the local Emmys for news, and I would so give this guy the award. In fact, we did! Which is why I was not allowed to judge them again.
