Several people got their starts at Second City like Tina Fey, John Candy, Steve Carrell, Mike Myers, Bonnie Hunt, Stephen Colbert, and so many more. Jeopardy thought the 50-year-old comedy troupe would make a great category and they were right.
I thought I had a chance of acing it because I got the $200 answer right. However, that is where it stopped. The $400 one blew my mind and stumped the contestants. The rest I knew, but could not remember the names. However, it was still fun learning from something I thought I should have known. How well did you do?
Eddie Murphy shared some interesting stories with W Magazine, and he could not stop saying t!tties during the first question. That is because he told them that Pam Grier’s t!tties were the first ones he saw. Not only that, he saw them over and over and over again in several different movies. Because of that, it made it awkward for him when they worked together on The Adventures of Pluto Nash. He never told her that he saw them, but he has a feeling she knew that he did. Mostly because he could not help but to look at them all wide-eyed.
That was not the only thing we learned about him; he talked about rightfully turning down advice from Rodney Dangerfield. Back in 1980, before Murphy did Saturday Night Live, he was on the lineup with Dangerfield in Fort Lauderdale. They asked who wanted to follow the legendary late comedian, and Murphy was so full of himself that he offered to do it. Not only that, Murphy asked him to watch his set. When it was over, Dangerfield told the teen that the race jokes and vulgarity was not going to work. Two years later, when Murphy, who was on SNL at the time, was in Vegas performing, and Dangerfield ran into him in the restroom. Rodney looked at him and said, “Who knew?” And you wonder why he got no respect?
For some reason, this interview reminds me of the old Eddie that we know and love. Almost enough to make me want to spend money and see him on tour with his act.
Frida and her friends went to a Starbucks around 30 miles west of Chicago and the man at the drivethru looked very familar to them. Sean looks a lot Harry Styles. Which makes you wonder if it is the One Direction singer?
While he may be a doppelganger, Sean has much more of a babyface.
You know if I were Sean, I would tell the coffee shop to take this job and shove it. Then I would get a job either as a Styles impersonator or a stripper who dances to One Direction. There is a lot more money in the latter two businesses.
2019 was not a good year for Ozzy Osbourne. He fell in February and had to get surgery on his neck. He told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America today that the surgery caused some damage to his nerves. Around the same time, he was diagnosed with a form of Parkinson’s that affects his nerves.
The diagnosis is not a death sentence and he is not on his death bed as it has been reported. However, since then he says, “I got a numbness down this [right] arm for the surgery, my legs keep going cold,”. Doctors are unsure which is causing the numbness since both can do it. That is why in April, he and Sharon will be going to Switzerland to work with a doctor who specializes in his type of Parkinson’s.
He is doing all of this so that he can go back on the road. The rocker says that touring and his fans are his drug of choice now. Although, he is on a lot of prescription drugs for the disease.
Sharon told Roberts, she needs to be strong for her family and Ozzy. If she breaks down, so will they. The talk show host also said that she cannot wait for Ozzy to go back on the road because he is driving her crazy. “Sssssshhhhhhhaaaaaaarrrrrrooooooonnnnnnnn.” This is the longest he has been home since they were married.
While he is still not ready to go back on tour, he is working on new music. That is something the nerve damage won’t take away from him. After all, he is the Prince of Darkness.
Wouldn’t it be fitting if the doctor in Switzerland told him that he needed bat’s blood to get better? Whatever the doctor does, let’s hope it makes him well enough to perform live again.
If it does work, then can someone send Neil Diamond to him. That polar opposite singer is also battling Parkinson’s and retired from the road because of it.
