Lee Daniels says Jussie Smollett will not be back
June 4th, 2019 under Jussie Smollett. [ Comments: none ]

Variety reported that the writers from Empire are coming up with different storylines that include the return of Jamal later on in the season. Well, Lee Daniels, the show’s creator saw the headline, and he had an update for the trade magazine. He wrote, “@Variety @JoeOtterson This is not factual. Jussie will NOT be returning to Empire. -LD.”

This would be the first time that anyone has acknowledges that he will not be back. Up until now, his return was left very open ended. As in, they said he was contracted for the final season, but there are no plans to bring him back. It seems like now the decision has been made.

I think they made the right choice because his return would be too much of a distraction. They need to focus on making the show as crazy as possible. Which you know it is going to be.

CBS All Access takes all the color out of The Twilight Zone
June 4th, 2019 under CBS, Jordan Peele. [ Comments: none ]

Almost 60 years ago when The Twilight Zone debuted with Rod Serling, it aired only in black and white. It was not until 1985, the first revival, that the new episodes were done in color. Since then every revival has been done in color including the latest one on CBS All Access.

That was until this week when they decided to release black and white versions of all of this season’s episodes. Would the color-stripped episodes change up the feel of the show? So far I only have watched the last episode in both forms and the answer is hell yes. It gives it the feel that makes the story even creepier. Which helps you travel through to another dimension. “A dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That’s the signpost up ahead – your next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

Granted, the last episode had a special guest star that made the effect even more fitting. However, I think the rest of the episodes will all benefit by going back to basics.

If you are like me and are going to rewatch them all in the different format, then keep your eye out for the Blurryman in all of them. Someone said they found him in the other nine. Did you spot him before he was revealed in the season finale?

I really hope that CBS All Access and Jordan Peele decide to do this again for the second season. Whoever suggested that they edit the show both ways deserves a big old raise. It was a very smart choice. One that really pays off for fans of the original.

Quantum Leap had a different ending
June 4th, 2019 under Quantum Leap, Scott Bakula. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zugNB5HPyMA
When Quantum Leap ended, Al was reunited his true love thanks to his friend Sam going back in time, as himself, to tell her, her husband was alive. By reuniting the two, it changed all of their timelines leaving Sam lost in time, never to return home again.

That was not the only ending the time-traveling show filmed that season. They taped another one in case it did get picked up for another one. Which evil NBC did not do.

Finally, after 30 years we can see what would have had happened if evil NBC had said yes instead of no. Had it been renewed it would have ended with Beth and Al trying to find a way to bring Sam home. They know he is lost in time as himself because there is no one in the waiting room. Something that would have been a real game changer. Something we did not see.

With all of the reboots and revivals in the works, it gave fans hope that maybe Quantum Leap could live again. While we have new hope, Scott Bakula never lost hope. He told The Blast, “I keep telling people, Sam’s still out there.”

Hey CBS, you owe Don Bellisario. You need to give NCIS: NOLA, which should have been part of Bellisario’s legacy, a shortened season and let Bakula film another season of Quantum Leap with Dean Stockwell. Who else wants more of Dr. Sam Beckett besides me? Imagine what they can do now. Maybe he can make it so Donald Trump goes to Vietnam and does not get a deferment? The possibilities are endless. Let’s see a few of them.

This cat hates her mom’s singing!
June 4th, 2019 under Animals. [ Comments: none ]

Liz’s friend found a kitty on the street and asked her what he should do with it. She offered to take care of the cat until she figured something out. Eventually, she decided to keep the Tuxedo and that decision is something to sing about.

Well, that is not good news to Helen. Every time her furmother sings, the feline goes in for the kill. As in trying to get her mom to stop. Since Liz loves to sing, she has a lot of videos of her furbaby attacking her. You would think she would get the hint, so now it is just another game between the two.

One that makes Liz laugh all the time. As a fellow cat mom, there is nothing better than having a cat that makes you laugh out loud every day. My cats have all found ways to do that, thankfully only one hated my singing as much as Helen hate’s Liz’s.

There is something that Ellen DeGeneres is bad at doing
June 4th, 2019 under Ellen DeGeneres. [ Comments: none ]

It seems like Ellen DeGeneres can do anything, but there is something she cannot do. Well besides date boys. That thing is doing impressions.

The show put together a montage of her trying to sound like other celebrities. Her attempts are so bad, that even Cher had to declare that Ellen’s imitation of her is the worst one. I have heard worse, but the talk show host is pretty close to being down there. Personally, I thought her Oprah Winfrey and Donald Trump was even more atrocious.

I think she needs to add a new game to her show. It is just her doing impressions and the guests have to try to guess who she is doing. If you cannot laugh at yourself, who can you laugh it? I mean we laugh at Ellen all the time. I mean we laugh with her.
