Six months ago, Kevin Smith nearly died from a widowmaker heart attack. That was then, now the director is healthier than ever. He is down the 51 pounds that the doctor told him to take off and that is not the only thing. So are all the important numbers like blood pressure and cholesterol.
He went from 256 to 205 pounds and he wants to lose 10 more. He says this is his lowest weight since he was in high school. Not only is he looking good on the scale, he is looking even better off of it. The former Fatman is even sexy! Who would have thought that Silent Bob would make us scream?
How did he do it? Weight Watchers and a change of lifestyle. He explained one major change, “I also wanna thank my kid @harleyquinnsmith – the little vegan astronaut who explored this meatless/milkless galaxy ahead of me, leading by example.” Then he added, “Since I never wanted to see the inside of a hospital ever again, I simply copied the Kid. So this wasn’t a diet: these results came from a total lifestyle change of eating solely plant-based foods (which is tough because I hate vegetables).”
He might hate vegetables, but we love having him around. Not as much as he loves having a second chance at life, but pretty close.
Brothers In Arms is working on an unauthorized documentary about Platoon. They shared a little tidbit they got from one of the stars from the 1986 movie. They wrote, “Johnny Depp was always just one of the guys. He recently told me that around that period was the last time he could walk down the street in peace.”
Mel B is currently filming America’s Got Talent. When the season is done, she will fly back to England and check into rehab. She told The Sun she was recently diagnosed with PTSD stemming from a past abusive relationship.
She explained, “I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on.
“Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol — it is underneath all that.
“I am fully aware I have been at a crisis point. No one knows myself better than I do – but I am dealing with it.”
Therefore, she will be getting herself the help she needs, so she can be the best mom to her daughters.
Ken Jeong is a doctor and also an actor. In between those two professions, he was a standup comedian. Next month, Dr. Ken is going to film a special for Netflix and you can go see him do what he does best in person. Well, one of the many things he excels at. Secretly, I think dancing is the thing that he does best.
Anyways, if you want to see him do comedy live and you will be around Pasadena on September 15th, then you can get tickets to the show. There will be two performances at The Ice House that night and you can still get $20 tickets to the show. Make sure to come thirsty because there is also a 2 drink minimum.
As we know drinking always makes the comedian funnier. Although, I have him do standup live (albeit around 15 years ago) and you do not need an alcohol to find him hysterical.
UPDATE: The taping night sold out, so he added a rehearsal shows the day beforehand. Therefore, you can get tickets to the early show and late show. In a way, that is even better because you get to influence what might be or might not be in the special.
