Last year, ABC ordered a spinoff from The Goldbergs set a decade later aka the ’90s, but they mistakenly did not pick it up. The three new, non-revival, sitcoms they did pick up did not or are not doing that well in the ratings. Which probably is one of the reasons why they realized that they made a mistake. Therefore, they announced today that the spinoff will be on the lineup in the fall.
That and back in January, when they aired the pilot, it did better in the ratings than most of their other sitcoms on ABC. Plus, they should know they have a goldmine with Adam F Goldberg. He creates the shows that families can watch together and there are not that many shows you can say that about these days.
So what is the spinoff going to be about? Tim Meadows will continue on as Principal Glascott of William Penn Academy and Coach Mellor (Bryan Callen) will still be coaching but without any Goldbergs as students. I will miss him on the mothership, but I like that we will be getting more time with the gym coach we all had when we were growing. There is one addition to the show next season and that is Lainey Lewis (AJ Michalka) is joining the show as a teacher. Which makes me think that she and Barry will not be getting together.
As of now, the sitcom does not have a name or a timeslot, but I am assuming it will air after The Goldbergs. At least if they are smart, and they gained some IQ points by finally picking up the show.
I love underdog stories, especially when they happen to good people like Adam F Goldberg. You know his sMother is kvelling so hard right now as she should be! Mazel tov!
UPDATE: Here is what Adam F Goldberg wrote about it getting picked up, “Beyond thrilled that I get to write about my teachers in 1990something and that the amazing Lainey @alyandaj will be at the center in the new version. This happened cause the @goldnerds kept bringing this up to ABC for the last 2 years! So THANK YOU all for the undying support!” Proving fans do have a voice and the networks should listen to us.

Before Harry Anderson was on television for nearly 15 years with Night Court and Dave’s World, he was selling them for GE. How magical was the 29-year-old in that 1982 commercial?
Harry Anderson was found dead this morning in his Ashville, NC house today at the much too young age of 65 according to Citizen-Times.
Anderson is known for playing the lovable and wacky Judge Harry Stone on Night Court from 1984-1992. A role that made the comedian/magician a household name and loved by many. When that show ended, he was back on TV the following season on a show called Dave’s World based on Miami Herald report Dave Barry. That sitcom ended in 1997.
In between those two comedies, he continued to appear on Cheers and starred in the 1990 TV miniseries It based on Stephen King’s book.
After Dave’s World ended, he did a few more TV appearances before moving to New Orleans. When Katrina wreaked havoc on that city, he moved to Ashville, NC. According to the Citizen-Times, he was still doing about 2 dozen comedy shows every year including two this past weekend.
Anderson was on my favorite actors when I was growing up because his geeky boyish charm just made him seem so cute and available.
Today, as he is reunited with his old friend Mel Torme, let’s all say “$50 and time served,” as we watch him make us laugh on Night Court. The much-loved show airs on LAFF several times throughout the day.
On Thursday, Khloe Kardashian gave birth to her first daughter and today she revealed her name. The baby girl’s name is True. Something that is being rumored her baby daddy has not been to her. In other words, there have been reports that Tristan Thompson cheated on the new mom.
When it comes to her name, the Kardashians should not be allowed to name their kids. They have a Reign, a North, a Saint, a Chicago, a Dream and a Stormi and now a True. What happened to semi-normal names?

Mariah Carey is being sued by her ex-manager Stella Bulochnikov. According to TMZ, Bulochnikov says that she was sexually harassed by Mimi because the singer would walk around naked all the time and did sexual things around her. Bulochnikov also claims that Mariah has a substance abuse problem and does not take her bipolar medicine as prescribed.
TMZ also mentions that Bulochnikov feels she was unfairly released from her 3-year contract in November and is owed money for being fired shortly before the end of it.
Mariah denies all the above and will fight these frivolous and baseless claims.
Stella was a big part of Mariah’s failed reality show, her failed relationship with James Packer and her failed New Year’s Eve performance.
