Did you know that Vin Diesel was not the original choice for Dominic Toretto in The Fast and the Furious? Originally, they wanted Timothy Olyphant to play the lead role, but he turned it down.
Yesterday, when he was on Watch What Happens Live, a caller wanted to know if he regretted turning down the part. But first Andy Cohen wanted to know why he decided not to do the movie. The actor said, “I just thought well this will just be stupid.” Then he added, “And I thought that no one is going to want to see this movie eight or nine different times. I mean by the third or fourth sequel people are definitely going to get bored of it.” As we know, he was wrong because they have released eight movies with a spinoff and ninth movie in the works. Hey, we all make mistakes, just some make much costlier mistake.
Talking about turning down roles, did you know Drew Barrymore, Olyphant’s Santa Clarita costar, turned down Showgirls. Although she claims it was a mutual decision between her and the director Paul Verhoeven. That turned out to be a smart decision on her part.
The best part of them turning down those movies, is we get to watch them Santa Clarita Diet that starts streaming its second season tonight on Netflix.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bij1IEzLZjM The last time , Entertainment Tonight spoke with Alex O’Loughlin in 2016, he told that he does not plan on renewing his contract with Hawaii Five-0 when this season ends. Recently when they spoke to him again, and they wanted to know if he still feels the same way.
He told them, “It’s tough for me to think about coming back to work right now, but I’m open to negotiations. I haven’t heard much but yeah, I’m open to it.” What has changed since then? He said, “A big part of this is that my back injury is doing a lot better after my stem cell treatments. It’s a big deal when you hurt your spine…but that injury really scared me.”
I am pretty sure CBS will make him an offer he cannot refuse. Even though the show is in its 8th season, it is still one of their top-rated shows.
Even though Roseanne has been playing her character for 30 years now, yet she still does not know how to spell her character’s last name correctly. Yesterday, when she tweeted John Goodman’s response to their outstanding ratings, she made yuge typo. She spelled their last name as Connor, but it is really Conner. Whoops. Typical Trump supporter, spelling does not matter!
On that note, Donald Trump took time out of his unproductive schedule to call her and congratulate her on the yuge ratings. Today on Good Morning America, she described the call. She said, “It’s pretty exciting. They said, ‘Hold please for the President of America.’ You know that is the most exciting thing ever. It was very, you know, sweet of him.” Then when he got on the phone they had a private conversation and talked about a lot of things. He did make time to tell her that he is happy for her.
Then she told the George Stephanopoulos, “I’ve known him for many years and he’s done a lot of nice things for me over the years. It was just a friendly conversation about work and television and ratings.” Then she added, “He really understands ratings and how they measure things.” Don’t tell her he does not really know ratings. He always said The Apprentice was always the #1 show and it was not.
And don’t tell him or his supporters, the show swings more to the left than the right. Much more.
BTW I wonder if during that conversation she asked to appear on the sitcom next season. No, it has not picked up for season 2, but the decision is imminent.
Back in 2013, Sharknado became an international sensation. This year, Ian Ziering and Tara will try to defeat one more tornado full of sharks. TV Line is reporting that the 6th movie will be it last one.
If you are going do a final movie, you have to make it one for the ages. How will they do it? They will be traveling through time, so it literally is one for the ages.
I am sad to see it go, but I know it will go out just like it came in. Awesomely awful!
