Even though John Stamos got married on Saturday, he was photographed declaring his love for someone other than Caitlin McHugh. He and his Full House costar Dave Coulier both wore T-shirts that read that Joey Loves Jesse and Jesse Loves Joey, so do they have something to tell us? Yes, they do, but not I do. They want to let us know that they are, “Buddies forever.” As if we did not know that.
This Wednesday, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is back on Netflix and they have a whole new set of the Fab 5 doing the show. Before we see the new guys make straight men fabulous, they got to meet the 5 men who made it all possible. Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine),Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming) and Tan France (Fashion) got advice from Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez, and we got to be flies on the camera and see them doing brunch together.
Now that we know that they are prepared for the job, are you prepared to watch the first 8 episodes of Queer Eye on February 7th.
When I was teenager this group I was in, would take us up to the woods for retreats. They would tell us city folks not to wear brown if we were walking around outside because a hunter might mistake us for a moose and shoot us. Yet my friend Danny would have us outside singing a song about a moose and act it out. Like he was trying to get us killed.
Why am I telling you all of this? The other day Shaq was walking around Minneapolis with a black fur coat and hat. Which is really not the smartest thing to do up there because they are constantly on the look out for Bigfoot and from behind the 7’1″ NBA legend looks like Sasquatch with all of that fur over his body (which better be fake). He better be really careful because Destination America might do a series about the search for him called Hunting Shaquatch! Which I would totally check out.
Sylvester Stallone and Al Pacino watched the Super Bowl together and both of the men wore caps. Had Sly not said it was Pacino I never would have known it was the Oscar winner. His hair is as much of a character as he is. Without those untamed black locks showing, he looks like any other guy on the street who would say, “hoo ha.”
Last night, many people watched This Is Us with other people at Super Bowl parties and did not want anyone to see them cry. But how could you not cry when Rebecca’s reality came crashing down on her that her husband, she was just talking to and seemed fine, is now dead. Mandy Moore’s face just reached into your soul and gutted it.
You were destroyed. And you were not alone. Millions of people were balling their eyes out with you including Chrissy Metz who watched her TV father die. Sterling K Brown captured her reaction and it breaks our hearts all over again.
Dang you, Dan Fogelman. My eyes are still sore, and there are not enough episodes of The Neighbors and Galavant to make my smile today. I want to be mad at you, but you are so brilliant and I am so glad that you are finally getting the respect your so richly deserve.
