Thank you to all the mothers out there who make the World a better place. For making us laugh when we are sad. For telling us we are the best when we feel our worst. For making us feel better when we are sick. For listening to problems, no matter how stupid they are. For always being there when we need you. And most importantly, just for being you!
Love you!

Freeform aborts Baby Daddy
May 13th, 2017 under Freeform. [ Comments: none ]

Even though Baby Daddy is doing well in the ratings, won a People’s Choice Award and will air its 100th episode on May 22nd, Freeform cancelled the very funny sitcom according to the show’s hunky star Derek Theler.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, they did this to make room for Black-ish’s spinoff. You know their version of the Different World where the daughter goes off to college. If it is anything like her character, the show is going to get an F and Freeform will regret their decision. Zoey (Yara Shahidi) is the least interesting character on the ABC sitcom.

Actually they should totally regret their decision because Baby Daddy and Young & Hungry are their most consistent shows. At least Freeform needs give us fans a little something and give Tucker (Tahj Mohry) and Bonnie (Melissa Peterman) a spinoff or a talk show. Those two have a chemistry unlike anything else.

Even though the show still has two more episodes left to air, I want to thank the cast and crew for giving us a great show that only got better.

Did Timeless use time travel to save itself?
May 13th, 2017 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Timeless had such a cult following, like William Shatner and Leslie Jones, that 3 days after NBC cancelled it, they changed their minds and picked it up for 10 more episodes.

Executive Producers Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan broke the happy news on Twitter and said that they will be back in 2018. I will take it when I can get it. I just hope they don’t pull a Jericho. As in, the fans save the show and then they completely f*ck it up. Man that was such a let down, but I doubt Timeless will let us down. If not, we will invent a time machine and get our revenge on them. Oh wait, we can’t because we can’t go back in our lifetime. Therefore, we will have a kid and tell them in 20 years they need to go back in time to 2017 and get our revenge. I think I need to stop watching shows and movies about time travel.

While Timeless got good news, 2 Broke Girls got bad news. It was cancelled after 6 seasons. Also cancelled yesterday was NBC’s The Blacklist Redemption.

It wasn’t all bad news, ABC picked up Speechless and Fresh of the Boat, Fox renewed Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Exorcist (weirdest decision of them all) and NBC sticks with Law & Order: SVU. Bringing the latter’s run into season 19, which is one hell of a run. Especially since Mariska Hargitay never ages.

UPDATE: CBS cancelled The Great Indoors, but they are not done with the outdoor. They renewed Amazing Race. They also renewed the low rated Elementary. This is a season where ratings don’t mean that much.

UPDATE 2: On Sunday Fox picked up New Girl for a shortened final season. Meanwhile over at CBS, they renewed Code Black and cancelled Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

Will Fox lose its dignity with Rent?
May 12th, 2017 under Fox, RENT. [ Comments: none ]

In less that 525,600 minutes Fox will be adapting Rent for the small screen with a live version sometime next season. The Broadway musical is about AIDS, drugs, homosexuality and being as free as you can before the turn of the millennium in NYC. I just don’t know how they are going to do it for broadcast TV and keep the feel that the late Jonathan Larson was going for, you know La Vie Bohème, even though his estate gave their blessing for the production.

The only way I would approve of it, is if they get the original cast members to do it. But instead they will go with cast members from Glee. No one can see One Song Glory like Adam Pascal. His voice was made for Rent.

Now, I thought I would hate Grease Live, but I enjoyed it. I knew I would detest Rocky Horror Picture Show and I am still flipping mad over it. And not in a Dr. Frank-N-Furter way. Well kind of like how he felt towards Eddie sort of way.

Anyways, I will try to be positive, but Rent is one my favorite plays and I just don’t have enough faith in them to get it right. How do you feel about them doing Rent?

Fox is bringing A Christmas Story to life this Christmas!
May 12th, 2017 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQzcy1XeBcI
On Monday, ABC announced that they were bringing back American Idol and NBC one upped them by announcing that they hired Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson as Coaches for The Voice. NBC announced that they are doing Jesus Christ Superstar live for Easter and Fox one upped them by announcing that they are doing A Christmas Story: The Musical live for Christmas. CBS the ball is your court for one upping all of that.

Now back to Fox, we know that A Christmas Story is a TBS staple every December 25th, but in 2012 a musical version went to Broadway. The latter version is coming to Fox this December. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who worked on Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land and ACS:TM, will be writing some new songs for the three hour production.

The only thing I ask, is not only will it be good, but also they find a way to incorporate Peter Billingsley in it. Without him, is there really a Christmas Story? Musical or not.
