As we know Ken Jeong not only plays a doctor on Dr Ken, he is one in real life. About a decade ago his world was rocked when his real life wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Eight years ago, she was declared cancer free.
Tonight at 8:30p on ABC, Jeong will relive those emotions in an episode he co-wrote. His TV wife Alison gives herself a breast exam in the shower and finds a lump. Ken freaks out and she tells him to calm down because it is making her nervous. He goes into the bathroom, lets out those nerves and goes back into the bedroom to calm down his wife who has breast cancer run in her family.
He tells his wife to call the doctor and schedule an appointment to find out if it is benign or malignant. She is hesitant to make the call, so he dials the number and runs away. Their daughter overhears the discussion and freaks out. But she doesn’t confront her parents.
Alison is told her doctor is on vacation and can’t see her for 2 weeks. Ken tries to make her an appointment for her and hits the same roadblocks. Then the staff at the Welltopia Medical Group, use all of their contacts and get her an appointment the next day. This is a sad scenario that many people, who discover lumps, find themselves in way too often. Not being able to make an appointment.
The next day Alison and Ken goes to the doctor and they find out the lump is solid and that means it could be cancer. He schedules a surgery the next day to perform a biopsy on the lump and tells her that the results won’t be back in for 24 hours.
During the wait, she starts writing a list of where everything is and the things Ken needs to know if it is cancer and she doesn’t beat it. This conversation is so real, you will feel their pain.
Finally, it is time for the results and you will have to tune in to find out what they are. But more importantly for a very powerful episode that deals with something so many families go through. Thinking you have cancer. Do you tell your family? How do you support your family member going through it? What are they thinking? How do you handle waiting for the diagnosis? And so much more. This is such a well done episode, I think everyone should watch it because it is something most of us will go through in some form of the way. It is preparation for the enviable that I hope none of us face, but most likely will.
Sir Patrick Stewart was on The Graham Norton Show today and he might have just told one of the best stories on a talk show ever.
The BBC host asked the actor about a disagreement he had with his wife about a certain part of himself. One night, when his wife and him were talking, he said to her, “…being circumcised and all.” She told him, “You’re not circumcised.” Wait, who would know better the man who is missing part of his penis his whole life or the woman who has seen it up close?
You see, let’s backtrack. When the Sir was a kid it was fashionable to look Jewish down there, so his mother told him that he was. Was she lying to him or his wife?
There was only one person who could answer this very important question and that is his doctor. The day after the Stewarts had this argument, Captain Picard got his annual physical. As the doctor was done there, he asked if he was indeed cut or not. The doctor gave him some blunt talk and said, “Not!” Stewart did not believe him and asked him to check again. This time the doctor told him, “Hey, I am Jewish. I know the difference.”
Hopefully, now so does Stewart. Can you imagine going through your whole life thinking you were circumcised and you were not. Good thing his wife knew the difference because now we have this wonderful story to remember him by. I know it is how I will remember the actor forever. So much so, it should be on his tombstone, “Here lies a man, who was circumcised.” After a few years, no one will be the wiser.
Now, back to the interview, Hugh Jackman’s reaction to the uncut tale was hysterical. I would’ve been peeing in my pants from laughter if I was there. How can you not watch this and not be in hysterics? Bloody brillant!
When 45 caused a rift between America and Mexico, Conan O’Brien announced he was going to go down to mend relations between the neighboring countries by doing a whole episode from there to air on March 1st.
This week, he went down Mexico City and got to the heart of the matter. He asked the people on the street if the would pay for the wall since 45 said that they would. How did they react? They ain’t gonna pay for no stinking wall. As if anyone but the people inside the White House thought they would.
You know what, I ain’t paying for that stinking wall either, but I will watch Conan’s TBS special episode. I think all you Gringos should too or in 45’s case Orango.
Thankfully the Mexicans that he spoke to have a sense of humor because this bit could have turned out completely differently of they did not.
BTW does anyone know if Immigration let Conan back into the US? I could totally see ICE standing there waiting for him at the gate to send him immediately back to Mexico for doing this special. Couldn’t you?

We have seen storm cells shaped liked a penises before during weather reports, but I don’t think we have ever seen one that came up right up to the weatherman’s mouth.
That all changed when KY3’s Brandon Beck was covering a storm cell that looked like the frank and beans, and he was ready to gulp it all down. Then when he was done, it was going to spew rain!
All I have to say is thank you Mother Nature for creating weather like this! It is nice to see she has a sense of humor!

Fans of Nashville were shocked yesterday as they watched Rayna James die after what seemed like a survivable car accident. The tear-filled episode ended with James’ daughters and husband crying over her as she passed away. Leaving viewers to do the same.
After it concluded on CMT, Connie Britton took to Instagram with this heartfelt message for them.
Thank you Rayna Jaymes. For your magic and your dignity. And thank you to all the creators of Rayna Jaymes, for there were many. Callie Khouri, who gave her life. Deacon, Maddie, Daphne, who shaped her as her family. Teddy, Tandy, Lamar too. Juliette, Scarlett, Bucky and the ones who crafted her into a business woman. Along with countless other compatriots and combatants. And then of course the crew of “Nashville” who brought her to life, every crew member in every department who made Rayna live each week.
And then there’s the music. T Bone, Buddy, Tim, Frankie and all the brilliant songwriters who gave Rayna a voice. There was no music, and no Rayna, without you.
But finally and most importantly, the fans. You made Rayna. You supported her and loved her and gave her inspiration just as she was able to inspire you. You were the energy source, the power behind her heart and soul and life. Rayna lived for you.
And, from the depths of my heart, I thank you, for her and for me. It has been an honor to be a part of that creation. And as I know she would want it, the show must, and will go on. Long live Rayna Jaymes. #RIPRayna #NashvilleCMT
Even though her death was shocking, I don’t think it was a surprise. Even though the actress signed on to do the music drama when it moved from ABC to CMT, she said she was only going to do a handful of episodes. I was kind of hoping she was going to follow the tech billionaire to the West Coast and make occasional appearances. Yesterday’s episode put the final nail in her coffin literally and she won’t be back on the show.
