iZombie breaths new life into the Zombie genre!
March 17th, 2015 under iZombie, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWCyqJv6q7g
If you are like me, then you think the whole Zombie genre has grown tired. You also long for the days, when you liked shows and movies about the undead. Well, iZombie that debuts on The CW tonight at 9p is the show for you.
Liv (Rose McIver) is a medical student, who is all work and no play. That is until a friend of hers at the hospital asks her to go to a party. For some reason, there is a Zombie attack at it and everybody dies including Liv. Somehow, she wakes up and now she is a Zombie. She is dead, but she is still a functioning human being.
For 5 months, she has been reinventing herself as the new person she is. Instead of practicing medicine on the living, she is working on the dead at the morgue. It’s a natural food supply for the starving Zombie. Part of her new menu is brains and she suffers a side effect when she eats them. She starts to get visions from the dead person’s memories and that helps her solve their murders.
Liv teams up Detective Clive Babinaux (Malcolm Goodwin) and together they solve the murder cases. He doesn’t know her secret, but Liv’s co-worker, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli), figured it out and he wants to find a cure for her.
Each week, Liv will eat and gets a new case to solve, and we get a medical examiner procedural with a Zombie twist that is enjoyable to watch. This is a smart show with a lot of brains, no pun intended.
So tune in for a show that you will love at first bite, I mean sight.

Make a date with Undateable because it ends with One Big Happy!
March 17th, 2015 under Bill Lawrence, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQKo6qKLLGY
Undateable was the summer’s biggest surprise hit, and tonight at 9p the highlarious comedy is back on NBC for its second season.
The whole gang is back at the bar and this time there is a new member working with them. Candace (Bridgit Mendler) is the new ditzy, but loveable waitress at Black Eyes bar. This role is a lot different from the one she played on Good Luck Charlie and it suits her. For her fans, you will be happy to hear she does sing on it.
When it comes to other guys, Justin (Brent Morin) is still dealing with his breakup to Nicki. So much so, Danny (Chris D’Elia) convinces him to try a one-night stand. Let’s just say no matter how much coaching Danny gives his roommate, Justin still manages to mess it up in his own special way. And Danny just makes it worse in his special way.
Then there’s Brett (David Fynn), Burski (Rick Glassman), Shelly (Ron Funches) and Leslie (Bianca Kajlich) and they are there to support their friends in their own special way. A way that makes you laugh so hard, you will be crying. Oh, and when it comes to Leslie, I will tell you she is the butt of all jokes tonight.
So tune into Undateable tonight and every Tuesday at 9p for a sitcom that is totally dateable!

Then at 9:30p, One Big Happy premieres on NBC. Lizzy and Luke have been best friends forever, they live together and now they are having a kid together. Why aren’t they together together? They both like the same thing, women. Everything has been going great for them until he meets Prudence and it is love at first sight and marriage on the second date. Now the three of them are living together as husband, wife and baby mama. How will it work out for them? You will just have to watch.
The show’s creator, Liz Feldman, wrote my favorite episode of 2 Broke Girls, so I had a lot of hope for the show. Sadly, that hope quickly faded with every episode I saw of the show and I saw four. The jokes and the chemistry feel forced, and Cuthbert is just unlikable. I hope that the show will get better, but sadly, I don’t think it will.

Danny Strong shares 5 things you don’t know about Empire!
March 17th, 2015 under Empire. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRGRhi_WOu4&feature=youtu.be
Believe it or not, tomorrow night, it’s already time for the 2-hour season finale of Empire on Fox at 8p. We know a lot about the characters, but how much do we know about the behind-the-scenes for television’s biggest show in decades. Last week, I was on a conference call with the show’s co-creator, Danny Strong, and he had some shocking reveals about the nighttime soap that people can’t stop talking about.

Empire almost didn’t become television show:
Danny Strong: “When I came up with the idea, it was as a movie, and I thought it could be this really cool hip-hop movie musical that I pitched to Lee Daniels. Then he called me the next day and said, ‘I can’t stop thinking about it, but I think it’s a TV show.’ And, I instantly knew he was right, because it was about a family, and great TV shows are about families.
And then we instantly started talking about Dallas and Dynasty. So it was this, it just kind of, organically come from the concept; as opposed to me setting out wanting to do something different, I, kind of really don’t work that way. I don’t thing about—I’m just idea driven. So, whatever the idea is, so what’s the best genre for that idea, what’s the best place to do it, etc., kind of how I work.”

Before Empire premiered, they had problems getting people to guest star on the show:
DS: “When the show first premiered, I mean, before the first show premiered, we had shot, I think, nine or ten episodes, and getting guest stars was not so easy, I mean, we were getting passed on all over the place, all of the time, and we ended up with some really cool guest stars during that period. Courtney Love, is a perfect example of someone who just kind of stepped up, leap of faith for having not seen the show, who joined us, right; but there were many people that wouldn’t.
“So, after the show premiered is when we started casting the season finale, and it was a very different, very exciting situation, where, when it was just tons of no’s, it turned into not only lots of yes’s, but incoming calls of people who wanted to be on the show. So, that’s when we ended up with the season finale with all of these amazing performers, and it’s really cool. I mean it’s really, really cool; there’s just going to be a ton of great musical numbers in the finale.”

What can we expect from the season finale:
DS: “It’s a very explosive finale, not surprising, right, given the nature of our story telling, and many things go down, many things will be resolved, alliances will shift, and yet, it may or may not, be completely resolved by the time it’s over.”

What it was like having the legendary Debbie Allen direct part of the season finale”
DS: “Debbie was so cool. I grew up watching Fame, and I co-wrote with Ilene Chaiken that episode that Debbie directed, so I was on set for a bit, and she’s sort of everything you’d imagine her to be. She’s just super cool, super hip, really smart, really talented, and I remember there was this cat fight that she was directing, and at one point she yelled out this direction, ‘Now toss the b!tch,’ and I just remember thinking, ‘That is, I think, the greatest piece of direction I’ve ever heard in my career.'”

Empire was picked up for a second season, but does that mean we will get 22 episodes?:
DS: “I don’t know what we are doing at this point, it hasn’t been decided, but I don’t think 22 is a discussion.”

A view of Jason Biggs we didn’t need to see!
March 17th, 2015 under American Pie, Jason Biggs. [ Comments: none ]

Jason Biggs is on The View today and he dressed up for the women co-hosts. Or should I say dressed down because that is where his pants are. Thankfully, he was able to cover up his American Pie with signage from the show, so we didn’t get too much of a view. Also luckily, for us it wasn’t see-thru like the plate he used in American Reunion when we got to see his crust and smushed apples. That would have me starting my St Patrick’s Day celebrating a few hours earlier than I was expecting to start it.

Donnie Wahlberg gets his Leprechaun facial hair on!
March 17th, 2015 under NKOTB. [ Comments: 1 ]

Today is St Patrick’s Day and Donnie Wahlberg looks like he is ready to celebrate it. No, he doesn’t have a green beer in his hand, but he actually has a beard on under his chin just like Leprechaun. Or as I look to call it “A Pen!s Beard” because to me the big head looks a lot a like the little head with it. I can’t think of one guy who looks good with it and that includes the New Kid on the Block. Sorry, Donnie! Although, he might look better with a green top hat, jacket and a bucket of (liquid) gold.
