Tonight’s episode of The Strain on FX at 10p is the best one yet, and they have all been really good.
Eph (Corey Stoll), The Jew (David Bradley), Nora (MÃa Maestro) and Jim (Sean Astin) have figured out how to kill the Vampires at night and that way is UV lights. Where to find them? They go to a medical supplies store, but they have already closed. Since this is dire times, they break in. While they are there, they run into The Exterminator (Kevin Durand). He has the same idea as them and he’s already taken all of the UV lights. After some negotiation, he decides to give them six.
When they are done, they decide to stock up on some food at a gas station. Sadly, for them the Vampires have shown up and they are there for them. Now the five of them along with the Hacker are going to try to get out of there alive. Not all of them will. That’s right, someone will die in this real nail biter of an episode.
So tune in for the most exciting show of the summer tonight at 10p. If you’ve never seen an episode, you can catch old episodes on OnDemand and the FX Now app.

Nathan Fillion likes to watch himself on TV! |
August 31st, 2014 under ABC, Nathan Fillion. [ Comments: none ]

Nathan Fillion posted that picture on WhoSay and said, “I keep hearing an echo, but of things I haven’t said. Weird.” Maybe if he wasn’t watching himself that wouldn’t be a problem. Although, let’s be honest, it hard not to watch him when he is on TV.

How hard is it to say Hurricane Cristobal? |

You’d think that saying Hurricane Cristobal wouldn’t be that hard for meteorologists and newscasters, and you’d be wrong. Jimmy Kimmel Live but together a mashup of a bunch of them trying to say it, and it was bad. Well, bad for them and good for us.

Tim Daly finally decided to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and he did it differently than anyone else. He actually stuck his head through an ice bucket on the set of his new CBS show Madame Secretary, and had the ice poured on top of him. He definitely earned his wings for this!

Lisa Desjardins did not go quietly from CNN! |
August 29th, 2014 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since Jeff Zucker started running CNN, loyal employees who have been there for years, even decades, have been let go. Earlier this week several employees, some who have been there since day one, were reportedly sent a letter asking them to accept a buyout. The eligible employees must be over 55 and have worked with the company for over ten years. If you meet those qualifications, then the company is asking you to take the buyout. If you don’t want to take it, then you are taking the risk of being let go without the buyout offer.
Now what if you are under 55 and been with the company less than 10 years, does that mean you are safe? In a word, Hell-to-the-Nooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Lisa Desjardins, who was covering Capitol Hill for 9 years, says she was told that her position is no longer needed. So she made a farewell video, instead of sending a goodbye letter. She didn’t send it out to just her CNN coworkers, she sent it out on YouTube for the whole wide world to see.
Her goodbye package is Pulitzer prize winning reporting and I hope they consider it for an award. Since her sentiments could be felt by anyone, who has been let go from any company.
So now, all of you people who watch CNN, have a face to put on all the layoffs that have been happening recently. It is a brave one, but it is also one of sadness.
I wish Lisa Desjardins luck and know she will land on her feet somewhere soon. Maybe Fox News, C-Span or MSNBC will snatch her up. I mean after all, she’s one of the few people on the Hill that would know if Congress threw passages of Fifty Shades of Grey into a bill. That is a great skill to have.
