Will Craig Robinson survive this Tonight Show sing-along?
May 16th, 2014 under Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Craig Robinson was on The Tonight Show yesterday and Jimmy Fallon asked him to play some songs on the piano to get the audience fired up. So the Rapture-Palooza star gave in and started tickling the ivories with If You’re Happy and You Know It. That is a safe song for him to entertain the crowd with, at least it seemed that way. Because all of sudden, he yells at the audience for messing up. Then he switched gears and played The Doobie Brothers’ What a Fool Believes. That didn’t go as well. So he went with a song for the ladies, Gloria Gaynor’s I will Survive. Since it is Craig Robinson, he changed up the lyrics so that the men could have some fun with it too. Lyrics that got the NBC late night a little nervous. Then The Office star cursed out the audience a second time for not singing, this time, and you can see Jimmy turn whiter than he already is. But once Craig belted out Eye of the Tiger, all was OK with everyone.
And with this awesome moment, I realized that Craig Robinson would be the perfect person to replace Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show. Would you watch him every weeknight on CBS at 12:37a? He can do his whole monologue from the piano, and everyone would love it because it would be about panties!

Pandamonium!!!

The Toronto Zoo shared some precious security video of their two giant pandas, Da Mao (plastic pool) and Er Shun (hay) playing around in their enclosures and you know want to watch it. I don’t know what it is about seeing them play like that, but it makes me wants to have one of my own. Don’t you wish you could own one too?

Will Josh Groban and Brad Paisley come to blows again on Rising Star?
May 16th, 2014 under ABC, Josh Groban. [ Comments: none ]

Last month Josh Groban and Brad Paisley appeared on the cancelled-to-soon-sitcom The Crazy Ones and next month they will reunite on ABC’s reality show Rising Star. Unlike on the TCO where Groban was a contestant on a singing competition that Paisley was judging on, Josh is hosting this one. But just like TCO, Brad is judging the one that debuts on June 22nd. Funny how a TV show becomes a reality…show.
The Country singer will not be alone at the judges’ table, he will be joined by Kesha and Ludacris. And with those names, they already have better panelists than American Idol. And since I am big fan of Groban’s humor, I will say they also have a better host. Sorry, Ryan Seacrest.
So what is Rising Star? Here’s the description from an ABC press release:

ABC’s new reality series “Rising Star” completely reinvents the traditional singing competition as–for the first time ever–the audience has the final say in real time. The show follows a group of aspiring singers as they audition in live performances. During the performances, viewers vote via an App in real time to determine if the singer will advance in the competition. If the voting reaches a certain threshold, the performer moves on, and the performer can see how the voting is going during the performance, so the feedback is immediate and dramatic.

That should be interesting. That is if us West Coasters don’t get screwed in the deal!

Robert Downey Jr and Liam Hemsworth’s role reversal?
May 16th, 2014 under Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr.. [ Comments: none ]

Robert Downey Jr Tweeted this photo of himself with his Avengers co-star, Liam Hemsworth, and both Superheroes were holding up signs. Only problems is Hemsworth’s says Iron Man and Downey’s reads Thor, and as we all know it is the other way around. So are they switching roles for the sequel? I guess we will have to wait until next May to find out.
