Arf Wars travels to The Bark Side
January 18th, 2012 under Ads, Star Wars. [ Comments: none ]

In a galaxy far far away, Volkswagen gathered a dozen dogs to bark out a song we all know very well. The twelve pups did the Star Wars theme in a way that has never been done before and should never be done again because the force was with this ad. Just arfdorable!!!
So what do dogs barking the John Williams song have to do with selling cars? Here is what the automobile manufacture posted with the ad on YouTube, “A canine chorus barks a familiar tune. Keep an eye out for our 2012 Game Day commercial—it will all make sense. Love Star Wars and Volkswagen? Create an Intergalactic Invite to your Big Game party here: http://vw.com/star-wars-invite.” Intrigued I am.
BTW it is very rare that a commercial comes on TV and makes me look up and replay it over and over, but that exactly what this ad did. Seriously doesn’t it make you want to howl at the moon?

Oh fudge, Lily says the F-word on tonight’s Modern Family
January 18th, 2012 under Modern Family. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on ABC’s Modern Family, awwwdorable little Lily is going to do something she has never done before…she is going to use the F-word. And for you uptight people who are calling this controversial, show creator Steven Levitan said the four year old actress does not say the real word when they filmed the scene, but she actually says a yummy word instead. It will just appear like she has said the cuss word when the show airs.
So how did such a storyline come about? Here is what he told us at the ABC TCA Winter Press Tour Day, “What happens in life is occasionally kids stumble on a word, they say a word maybe they heard it, maybe they just say it, they see the reaction and then it becomes their go to word for a little while. That’s how the story came about.” He then added when asked if she said that word, “We never forced this beautiful, innocent, little child to say the actual word in real life.” When asked what she does say, he explained, “To tell you the truth, she says ‘FUDGE‘ in real life. We thought would actually be funnier.”
When he was asked again about the storyline again, he wanted to add “I think it is a very relatable parents story. It’s that thing that happens that so many parents have to deal with. Ut-oh, she knows that word, I hope she doesn’t say it at an inopportune moment.” Since I know he is a father to three kids in real life, I had to know when something like this happened to him. He shared with us, “You know what, I don’t even remember to tell you the truth. But there are just those moments, where they say something and it really cracks you up and you don’t want them to see you laugh because that is the worst thing you can do.”
I don’t have kids, but my friends’ daughter is at the impressionable age and now we have to watch what we say around her because she repeats what we say. Let me tell you we say a lot of inappropriate things, so I am constantly watching what I say. And there have been times where she has done exactly what Lily does on the show tonight, so it something that anyone around little ones can understand. So to all you people who are looking for controversy when there isn’t, get a life and enjoy a show that everyone in the family can appreciate. Because let’s be real we have all done a Lily when we were growing up. When I was her age and I saw a roach, I would exclaim “Look at the sh!t! Look at the sh!t!” And yes my parents would be embarrassed, but that is what kids do. Do you remember what your no-no word was when you were a wee-one?
Finally I don’t know what sets off her to say the F-word, but if I were here it would be about wearing that dress.

OshKosh B’Gosh what is David Hasselhoff wearing?
January 18th, 2012 under David Hasselhoff/Baywatch. [ Comments: none ]

Fame Pictures
David Hasselhoff was seen in the land Down Under walking around in overalls with his girlfriend Hayley Roberts. So is he going Hoff his rocker by wearing some age inappropriate clothing? Nope it was the appropriate attire for a challenge he was taking part in for their version of Celebrity Apprentice. He went from getting wet from the ocean on Baywatch to doing so by cleaning dogs at a Doggy Wash.
BTW when I saw that picture of The Hoff and Hayley, I thought it was them making fun of Doug Hutchinson and Courtney Stodden. Doesn’t it kind of feel creepy like that? Granted Hoff is much closer in age to his girlfriend than Hutchinson is to his wife. The Knight Rider is only 27 years old than his girlfriend as compared to the Lost actor who is 35 years older than his wife.

Royal Pains is accepting patients again
January 18th, 2012 under USA Network. [ Comments: none ]

Royal Pains is back on USA tonight at 10p and so much is answered during tonight’s premiere. The show picks up with Hank rushing Eric Kasabian to the hospital after he suffered what could be deadly complications from getting oral steroids. Hank blames Dr Van Dyke for the screw up, but Van Dyke knows that it was Divya who prescribed a possibly lethal dose. Now Divya has to face the consequences from her mistake. Will she finally tell Hank that she has been moonlighting at the hospital? And more importantly will she lose her first patient due her mistake?
Meanwhile Evan is trying to win over his future father-in-law who is hot and cold with him marrying his daughter Paige. Will Evan ever be able to propose to Paige or will it be the end for these two? And it isn’t the only relationship on the rocks, Hank and Jill are having issues too.
And since Hank never has enough on his plate, HankMed is helping a party planner who has suddenly gotten sick the day before the Hamptons biggest bash. But that isn’t all, Tom Cavanagh is back as golfer Jack O’Malley and due to his health he will be sticking around for a while.
Royal Pains might take place in the summer, but it is just as hot in the winter.
