Twenty-five years ago Rob Reiner made a little film called Stand By Me narrated by Richard Dreyfuss with 4 virtually unknown actors (Wil Wheaton, Jerry O’Connell, Corey Feldman, and the late River Phoenix) and this week the 4 actors stood by the director and got to together to honor that big anniversary.
Can you believe that timeless movie was made in 1984 and how much the cast has changed? Wheaton, 37, is now a blogging visionary, O’Connell, 37, is no longer the fat kid from Stand By Me and Feldman, 39, is now as much a musician as an actor? I wonder if they knew back then that some of what was said at the ending of the movie would kind of mirror how their lives would turn out? Wheaton is the writer, O’Connell has been steadily acting, Feldman had his issues and Phoenix would be the first one to die out of the four?
OK enough sadness, don’t they all look wonderful? I so loved Stand By Me back when I was kid and now again and again as an adult.

Tina Louise got off of Gilligan’s Island only to land on another one…Manhattan. Doesn’t the 77 year old actress look as beautiful as she did when she played Ginger over 45 years ago? Can you believe it was that long ago that she went on a three hour tour with Gilligan, The Skipper too, The millionaire and his wife, The professor and Mary Ann?
Out of all the people I ever expected in my life to sing the Charles in Charge theme song, Bob Dylan was on the bottom of the list. That was until last night when I saw him actually sing it on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and you know what he nailed it. Only problem is because I was able to understand every word he was singing, I realized it wasn’t the Hurricane singer himself but the Fever Pitch belongs to the host himself. Either way, I loved it and I can’t wait for him to do a duet for the Joanie Loves Chachi theme with himself singing both parts or better yet he can sing it with Scott Baio aka Chachi aka Charles? He’s taking request right?
BTW not only does Fallon do a spot on Charlie Sheen, he also does a perfect Bob Dylan!!!
USA Network announced today that White Collar and Covert Affairs will be back on the air for their new seasons starting June 7th. Covert Affairs was a huge hit as soon as it premiered last year and I can’t wait to see what happens this season on the show. Piper Perabo has proven she can be a tough girl in the Coyote Ugly world of TV. And even though Chris Gorham plays a blind CIA agent, anyone can see he not only does a convincing job with the role…he is also perfect for it. Covert Affairs is so cool, it will make the hottest day this summer seem bearable!
In the press release, USA also said that both shows went back into production this week. In honor of that fact Peter Gallagher Tweeted this cute picture of Gorham and him on the set today and said, “@Chris_Gorham ‘s Saint Patrick’s Day paperweight at Headquarters! You can all relax, the world is safe. Cheers!” Something else to cheer about this is the show will be back in less than three months.
And something for me to cheer about…here is something that @Chris_Gorham Tweeted today “Nice, @seriouslyomgwtf broke the news to me that #CovertAffairs is back Tue, June 7 at 10!” I have been a big fan of his since Popular, so between getting this Tweet and USA announcing when the show will be back, I already feel like I have had my share of the Luck of the Irish.
