BTWF roles: J.J. Abrams in Six Degress of Seperation
May 6th, 2010 under Before They Were Famous, Lost. [ Comments: none ]

Before J.J. Abrams was the hottest producer/director of the new millennium, he was an actor in Six Degrees in Separation. How cool was it to see the 27 year old in front of the camera in that 1993 movie?

J.J. Abrams teases us with Super 8!
May 6th, 2010 under Lost. [ Comments: 1 ]

If finally having Iron Man 2 out now is not enough of a treat, the teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg’s Super 8 is showing before the blockbuster. According to The Wrap J.J. will direct the $45-50 million feature that he wrote this fall, and it is due out next summer. After just that little tease, I can’t wait to see that movie. Well that is if the Lost ending is a good one like Newhart and not bad one like The Sopranos because if it is the latter I will find myself boycotting anything that has J.J. initials attached to it.
xoxo Monica!

Gwyneth Paltrow brings her bitchiness to The Marriage Ref tonight
May 6th, 2010 under Gwyneth Paltrow, NBC. [ Comments: 1 ]

Gwyneth Paltrow is going to be a panelist on NBC’s The Marriage Ref tonight at 10p and I feel bad for the poor couples and Greg Giraldo that have to listen to her nasally voice as she gives marriage advice. I would say the same for Jerry Seinfeld and Tom Papa, but for Jerry it helps the ratings of his show and for the host he is just a little less annoying than the Oscar winner.
BTW I have to wonder if Gwyneth only agreed to do the show if Jerry was part of the panel because he hasn’t been on the show since the first set of panelists. If Madonna could do it with Ricky Gervais and Larry David, the GOOP lady could do it with whoever they paired her with. But she thinks she is better than all of us.
One final note about The Marriage Ref, I really hope that NBC replaces Tom Papa in the fall because he is just awful. He acts like George Costanza, moves like Jack Benny and sounds like Jerry Seinfeld, that should be a good mixture but on him it is not.

Who is the bigger ham…William Shatner or David Hasselhoff?
May 6th, 2010 under David Hasselhoff/Baywatch, William Shatner. [ Comments: 1 ]

Two of Hollywood’s biggest hams William Shatner and David Hasselhoff were in NYC at the A&E Upfronts to promote their upcoming shows. The Hoff is doing a reality show with his two daughters on A&E and The Shat has two shows on Bio, Raw Nerve and Aftermath.
Looking at these two TV icons together I wonder who has the bigger ego and who is more of a camera hog? I personally can’t decide, but by the looks of that last picture I think that Michael Knight is saying that the answer is Captain Kirk.
BTW you know how TV Land has branched out to doing original sitcoms on their network, how awesome would it be if they gave Mitch Buchannon and Crane, Denny Crane a buddy show together. Could you imagine how much the two of them would be fighting over camera time? It might get ugly fast, but it sure as heck would be a lot of fun to watch!

Remember Valerie Harper?
May 6th, 2010 under Remember?. [ Comments: none ]

Valerie Harper was at the 2010 Tony Awards Meet The Nominees Press Reception and she looks like she has turned back the hands of time! The 70 year old actress looks as good as she did when we were introduced to her as Rhoda on The Mary Tyler Moore show back in 1970. I want to know her secret for aging backwards!
