Before Lea Michelle was belting it out on TV for Glee, she was doing it on Broadway in Ragtime. The 12 year old looks exactly the same now as she did when she performed at the Tonys back in 1998, but with bangs.
For five whole episode of Grey’s Anatomy we will be Katherine Heigl free!!! According to EW’s Michael Ausiello she is taking the time off to film a movie. Hollywood’s biggest complainer is working on Greg Berlanti’s movie Life As We Know It and I think is the first time I don’t want to see something that the creator of Everwood and Eli Stone has done. Greg, WTF are you thinking by hiring her???
Now back to the loud mouth and Grey’s, both her and Ellen Pompeo will be off at the same time so maybe the show will be enjoyable to watch again? I won’t miss Izzie’s bitchiness and Meredith’s whining, will you?
BTW how and why her character is leaving Seattle Grace is not yet known. I don’t care what it is as long as she off the show for at least five episodes!
UPDATE: Watch with Kristin got the scoop how Dr Izzie Stevens will be taking her break. Seattle Grace is going to merge with another hospital and Izzie will be fired. Sadly thought Heigl is only fired from the hospital and not the show. Ellen Pompeo will be slip in to the background during her maternity leave so that the show can show off its new characters. Grey’s is adding new characters because when the original actors’ contracts are up the show will be able to go on without them like ER did without the likes of George Clooney and Anthony Edwards.
If your name is Charlie and you are over 65, today seems like a good day to retire. Both ABC’s World News anchor Charlie Gibson and The Rolling Stones Charlie Watts are retiring from their jobs.
Charlie Gibson, 66, announced this morning that he will be stepping down from his ABC News anchor chair at the end of the year.
I have always been taught you should never bury the lead – so I write toP tell you that I have told David Westin I want to step down as anchor of World News, and retire from full time employment at ABC News.
It has not been an easy decision to make. This has been my professional home for almost 35 years. And I love this news department, and all who work in it, to the depths of my soul.
Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer will replace one of the last few journalists left in the business in January. As of now no word who will be replacing her on GMA, but you know every female anchor in the biz is going to be gunning for that position.
Now from the land of TV news to Rock n’ Roll, Undercover is reporting that Charlie Watts, 68, has retired The Rolling Stones’ drummer. He will no longer record or tour with the band that is expected to get back to work next year. Undercover is also reporting that the band already has a replacement in mind.
“The Stones are looking to Keith’s Expensive Winos drummer Charlie Drayton to fill the void in all future Stones’ callings.”
Wow, it will be weird to see The Stones without him afterall he has been with them for over 43 years longer than most of you reading this and I have been alive.
UPDATE: The Rolling Stones deny that Charlie Watts has left the band.
Cate Blanchett suffered a head injured during a live performance of A Street Car Named Desire in Sydney yesterday when she was hit by a radio. The script calls for her to be hit by the radio, but for some reason something went wrong according to what an audience member told Adelaide Now.
“She had blood streaming down the back of her head and blood on the back of her neck,” she said.
“She acted for about another 30 seconds, then ran into what we thought was the next scene, but before we knew it the lights were turned on and we were told there were technical difficulties and everyone had to evacuate the Sydney Theatre Company.”
The Oscar winner is doing better and as they say, “The show will go on.” Maybe Cate should stick to movies for her health?

In honor reaching 1 million followers on Twitter, Soleil Moon Frye dressed up as Punky Brewster, the character she is most famous for. You know what with the wig and the clothes she looks exactly as she did when she played Punky Brewster as a wee one, but taller.
BTW I wonder if her husband made her keep the costume on for some bedroom play afterwards. After all she was in a celebrating mood!
