Patrick Swayze was hospitalized for chemo-related pneumonia according The Live Feed. He was expected to be at the TCAs to promote his new show The Beast that premieres on A&E this Thursday, but instead the head of the network announced.
"Patrick has asked that I tell you that this morning he checked himself into the hospital for observation," A&E president and GM Robert DeBitetto said. "Chemotherapy can take its toll on the immune system, and illnesses are a part of that. Patrick wishes me to tell you that he's very sorry he cannot attend, but plans to get back to promoting 'The Beast' soon. He thanks everybody for the outpouring of support. We hope to see him back on his feet soon."
My prayers are with him and hopefully he will be better soon.
Swayze was on Barbara Walters with his wife Lisa on Wednesday and opened up about his cancer for the first time since he announced he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer over a year ago.
Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he helped Anne Hathaway fulfill her New Year’s Resolution to do something new every day for the year! He went down a list of things for her to try and the only thing she hadn’t done was put out a birthday cake with a fire extinguisher. Who knew that discussing how to use a fire extinguisher could be so XXX rated?
BTW also Kimmel might have put that fire extinguisher away a little too early because when his next guest the smoking Jensen Ackles came on and he could have used it on the audience. Those girls were really hot for the Supernatural (which is back on The CW next thursday at 9p) star, and I know if I were there I would have screeched just like them!!! Make sure to watch the interview all the way through because Kimmel models the 3D glasses that you will need to see Jensen’s new movie My Bloody Valentine 3D when it comes out next Friday. They are much better than original ones from years past.
It is a New Year and that means we will get new episodes of Monk and Psych starting tonight on USA at 9p.
Tonight on Monk, he finds out he has half-brother played by Steve Zahan. Something that normal people would be happy about this, but this Monk. That and his baby brother is fresh out of jail, and not because he was released. And yes his brother is connected to a murder that he asks his big brother to help clear his name. Since his brother has no where to live he moves in with Monk and once that happen the show gets funnier by the minute!
Also on USA tonight, Psych takes on their first dead animal case, a sea lion that Shawn notices was murdered when he attended the open casket funeral. Yes they have an open casket funeral for Shabby the Sea Lion. As Shawn and Gus investigate who would kill Santa Barbara’s local hero they spend more time behind bars than in front of them and the antics that put them there will have you laughing your a$$ off.
