Blame Borat for Pam and Kid’s divorce?
November 28th, 2006 under Pamela Anderson. [ Comments: none ]

JUST three months after they wed in St. Tropez, Pamela Anderson has filed for divorce from Kid Rock (real name Bob Richie) because of his "male insecurity and major anger issues," a close pal said. The final straw was a bellicose blowup Rock threw at Universal Studio chief Ron Meyer’s Beverly Hills house two weeks ago. "Ron Meyer held a screening of ‘Borat’ at his house for a bunch of people, including Pam and Bob," says an Anderson pal. "It was the first time Bob had seen the movie, and, well, he didn’t like it." The hugely popular film shows Sasha Baron Cohen – in character as Borat Sagdiyev – falling in love with Anderson after seeing her in a "Baywatch" rerun, then driving across America in order to propose marriage to her. Her friend tells Page Six, "Bob started screaming at Pam, saying she had humiliated herself and telling her, ‘You’re nothing but a whore! You’re a slut! How could you do that movie?’ – in front of everyone. It was very embarrassing. "Pam thought he could have a sense of humor about the movie. She was in on the gag from the very beginning and loved doing the movie. And on the eve of what was supposed to be a very positive thing, he made it an awful night. "Ever since that night, it has been icicles between them," the friend relates. "Bob is just a very unhappy and angry man. Pam is very disenchanted and sad. You know, there are reasons why she never married him before. Those reasons disappeared while they were together on a boat in St. Tropez, but she knows now that they never went away. The reality is he is an insecure, angry man." Anderson, who suffered a miscarriage this month, left her Malibu home Sunday until Rock could pack up his stuff and leave. She took her two boys, Brandon and Dylan (sired by ex-husband Tommy Lee), to Shutters in Santa Monica. "Pam is just very happy to not be in the same house with so much passive-aggressive hostility in it," the friend adds. Rock’s rep didn’t return calls, and Anderson’s manager declined comment.

Not a sole showed up to a Heather Mills’ event!
November 28th, 2006 under Paris Hilton. [ Comments: none ]

Only a few days ago Sir Paul McCartney was signing autographs for hundreds of fans during a rare public appearance in London. Today it was the turn of his estranged wife Heather Mills to step into the limelight. Unfortunately, nobody else bothered to turn up. Mills, who is fighting a bitter divorce with the former Beatle, was at Finsbury Circus to launch an auction of celebrity shoes on eBay to raise funds for the Mines Advisory Group charity. Few people were present for the launch, in stark contrast to Sir Paul’s appearance at Virgin Megastore for a record signing last week. In fact the only members of the public who paid any attention were a couple of office workers eating their sandwiches in the square. Several celebrities have donated shoes for the auction, including signed white leather ankle boots from David Bowie, signed Adidas trainers from Coldplay’s Chris Martin and silver strappy Jimmy Choo’s owned by Hollywood star Susan Sarandon. Pamela Anderson has, ironically, donated a pair of Stella McCartney white PVC stilettos signed by the designer. Given the loathing alleged to have been felt by Sir Paul’s daughter for 38-year-old Mills, this last item is of particular interest for collectors of celebrity oddities. Mills, whose claims that 64-year-old Sir Paul who is said to be worth £850 million, abused her during their marriage have been strenuously denied, left without taking any questions from journalists.

Maybe now she will understand how much she is hated!

Fox’s The Loop thrown for one
November 28th, 2006 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

"The Loop" doesn’t even have a spring premiere date yet, but FOX is already putting the series on notice. According to the industry trade papers, FOX has trimmed the order for the midseason comedy by three episodes, from 13 to 10. Although "The Loop" premiered last spring to fairly weak ratings, FOX was encouraged by the show’s retention of its "American Idol" audience (at least compared to "Life on a Stick," apparently) and hoped to retool the comedy for its second season, concentrating more on the workplace adventures of the junior airline exec played Bret Harrison. Since the show hasn’t had a chance to find a new viewership this year, the episode cut is believed to be the result of FOX’s already stuffed spring premiere schedule. While almost all of the network’s fall offerings have flopped, FOX has a slew of new shows hoping to benefit from the network’s inevitable "American Idol"-fueled spring resurgence. On the drama front, FOX has "Drive" and an untitled wedding series from David E. Kelley on tap. In addition, the comedy "The Winner" is in production, though that series only has a six-episode initial order.
