A Razzie Nightmare: Sylvester Stallone to give up acting? |
October 31st, 2006 under Razzies movies?. [ Comments: 1 ]

Sylvester Stallone will retire from acting after shooting his new Rambo movie. The action hero, who will begin working on Rambo 4: In The Serpent’s Eye early next year, has revealed he will continue to work in Hollywood – but only as a director. Sylvester explained: "After I make this movie, I see my future as a director. I’ve been displeased with my last few films, as well as some in the past." Rambo 4: In The Serpent’s Eye will see Vietnam veteran John Rambo rescuing missing missionaries in Thailand. The 60-year-old actor enjoyed massive box office success in the 70s and 80s with the Rocky and Rambo movies but has often failed to impress critics. Sylvester, affectionately known as Sly, penned script for the first Rocky movie and wrote and directed Rocky II, Rocky III and Rocky IV. However, he has won more Golden Raspberry Awards – given for the worst film performances of the year – than any other actor in history. Rocky Balboa – the sixth film in the series – is scheduled to be released in December.

Not that I would complain if he did…but you know he will be back.

What a blockbuster! Jackie Chan and Jet Li to do a movie together!!! |
October 31st, 2006 under Jackie Chan, Movies. [ Comments: none ]

Let the fight begin. Jackie Chan and Jet Li will star together for the first time in a $70 million family pic that Relativity Media will finance and Casey Silver produces. Robert Minkoff will direct, while martial arts expert Yuen Woo-Ping ("The Master") will create the action sequences. Shooting is set for April. Film is one of two new big-budget projects that Relativity — backed by hedge fund money — will be offering to buyers at the American Film Market, which unspools Wednesday in Santa Monica. The second is Brian De Palma’s $70 million prequel "The Untouchables: Capone Rising," which Paramount will distribute domestically. Both films will be repped at AFM by Mario Kassar’s Magnetik Media, which also will be selling Relativity’s previously announced Russell Crowe-Christian Bale starrer "3:10 to Yuma," which James Mangold is shooting. Chan-Li starrer, known as the untitled J&J project, has been rumored for some time, but Relativity, headed by Ryan Kavanaugh, boarded only recently. John Fusco script is based on the legend of the monkey king and his quest to achieve immortality. Li is set to play two roles, that of the monkey king and the silent monk. Chan will play the monk T’sa-Ho. The two martial-arts masters have long said they would like to appear together in a film and fight each other.

Pete Doherty gets turned on wearing women clothing |
October 31st, 2006 under Pete Doherty/Kate Moss. [ Comments: none ]

KINKY Pete Doherty has revealed that he likes to wear lover Kate Moss’s clothes. He also borrows the top model’s make-up – and says trying on her shoes makes him feel really horny. The 27-year-old Babyshambles frontman spoke of his secret passion for women’s clothes and face-slap while on a night out at a west London bar. Pete was larking around with two male pals when two female fans asked him about his use of cosmetics. Pete said: "Oh yeah, I love them – especially the eye-liner. It’s a laugh as it can make the right changes to your features." He went on to reveal how he’d also tried on Kate’s clothes and found them a real turn-on – especially her shoes. Pete said: "I just don’t get all the fuss when people see fellas wearing women’s clothes. "I mean, I love Kate’s stuff and have tried some bits on. What’s wrong with that? "Footwear is the key and it makes you feel good…very good, if you get my drift." Pete’s raunchy revelations come the day after the Daily Star revealed how friends said he was finally winning his long battle against his heroin addiction. The singer is said to have kept clear of drugs since a stint at celebrity rehab clinic The Priory in north London. He checked out of the clinic last month and friends say he is now determined to stay clean for Kate’s sake. He is said to have promised her he’ll be drug-free for their wedding – planned for Kate’s 33rd birthday, January 16, on holiday isle Ibiza.

Did Friday Night Lights score a touchdown on Monday? |
October 31st, 2006 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]
|
Against repeats on CBS, NBC opened the week on a winning note, with a first-place finish in the overnights, total viewers and adults 18-49. NBC’s Deal or No Deal (which will benefit by being removed from the Thursday 9 p.m. hour) kicked-off with a dominant 10.1/15 in the overnights, 16.84 million viewers and a 4.8/13 among adults 18-49, followed by Heroes at an above-average (and also first-place) 9.7/14 in the overnights, 14.74 million viewers and a 6.4/15 among adults 18-49. Although a 10 p.m. airing of Tuesday drama Friday Night Lights (Overnights: #2, 5.7/10; Viewers: #2, 8.29 million; A18-49: #2, 3.5/ 9) dipped from Heroes by a considerable 41 percent in the overnights, 6.45 million viewers and 45 percent among adults 18-49, there were two pieces of positive news.
1) Friday Night Lights increased from its most recent Tuesday 8 p.m. airing (Overnights: 4.0/ 6; Viewers: 6.27 million; A18-49: 2.6/ 7 on Oct. 24) by 42 percent in the overnights, 2.02 million viewers and 52 percent among adults 18-49.
2) Friday Night Lights increased from the most recent performance of regularly scheduled occupant Studio 60 (Overnights: 6.3/10; Viewers: 7.72 million; A18-49: 3.2/ 8 on Oct. 23) by 570,000 viewers and 9 percent among adults 18-49.
While the retention could have certainly been better out of Heroes, NBC may want to consider another Monday 10 p.m. airing of Friday Night Lights in place of Studio 60 (which has not been officially canceled).
PI Feedback
I have to admit I am finally getting used to Friday Night Lights.

How does Sumner Redstone really feel about Tom Cruise? |
October 31st, 2006 under Admirable People, Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes/Suri. [ Comments: none ]
|
SUMNER Redstone has had many unkind words for Tom Cruise over the past months – and he’s still not finished bashing the couch-jumping Scientologist. "He was embarrassing the studio. And he was costing us a lot of money," the outspoken Viacom chief tells the December issue of Vanity Fair. Confirming a Page Six exclusive, Redstone admits it was his wife, Paula, who first soured on Cruise, which resulted in his decision not to renew Paramount’s megabucks deal with Cruise’s production company. "Paula, like women everywhere, had come to hate him. The truth of the matter is, I did listen to her . . ." Redstone says. "His behavior was entirely unacceptable to Paula and to the rest of the world. He just didn’t turn one [woman] off. He turned off all women, and a lot of men." Redstone estimates that Cruise’s antics – acting wacky, ripping into psychiatry, firing his professional publicist – were the key elements in the star’s downfall: "When did I decide [to fire him]? I don’t know. When he was on the ‘Today’ show? When he was jumping on a couch at ‘Oprah’? He changed his handler, you know, to his sister [LeAnne Devette] – not a good idea." Redstone estimates that Cruise’s bizarre behavior cost Paramount "$100 million, $150 million on ‘Mission: Impossible III.’ It was the best picture of the three, and it did the worst." He isn’t sorry he embarrassed Cruise publicly: "The explosion was good. It sent a message to the rest of the world that the time of the big star getting all this money is over. And it is! I would like to think that what I did, or what we did, has had a salutary effect on the rest of the industry."
Page Six
He is so right on and I think he did send a message to Hollywood…it will be interesting to see if Hollywood will listen to this NY man?
