Does CSI’s William Petersen want off the case?
September 22nd, 2006 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

‘CSI" star William Petersen is looking for more time off from the hit crime show so he can appear in stage plays next year. Petersen, who sources say is under contract with "CSI" through 2008, hopes to star in a Chicago-produced play sometime next year. He’s already managed to work in some time off the show this season to appear in a play in Rhode Island. To do the stage show, he’ll be absent from two episodes of "CSI," and he appears to be pushing for the same kind of deal next year. "We’re going to do a play as soon as we can get enough time to make it worth everyone’s while," Petersen told the Chicago Tribune of talks he’s had with Dennis Zacek, the artistic director of the famed Victory Gardens Theater, the company that gave Petersen his big break. Zacek says, "I’m trying to have something custom-made for him, but it’s in the making. It’s not finished. "I’m not sure this means we won’t see him in any more movies or in any more TV stuff, but I do think there’s a hunger to get back to the demands and the purity and the risks of live theater." "There may be stuff I do [on ‘CSI’] next year," Petersen says. "I just know that I want to do a play in Chicago next year." Petersen has a history of aggravating CBS brass with comments about leaving "CSI," and has ripped the network for twice spinning off the crime drama.

After yesterday’s numbers he might just get his wish.

Georgio Armani doesn’t work with models that are too skinny
September 22nd, 2006 under Thin Models Bad. [ Comments: none ]

Designer Giorgio Armani has blamed stylists and the media for the fashion industry’s obsession with ultra-thin women. In London to host a music and fashion extravaganza with stars Beyonce, 50 Cent and Bono, Armani said no girl needed to be anorexic to be fashionable. A debate about models’ weight has shaken the fashion world in recent days since Madrid banned excessively thin women from its catwalks after accusations their appearance may cause eating disorders in young women. "I have never wanted to use girls that are too skinny. I prefer girls that show off my clothes in the best way," Armani told Reuters Television after the show late on Thursday. "Unfortunately though, the stylists and also the media have interfered and they now want models that are incredibly thin." Armani, whose client list spans Hollywood to high finance, is a bellwether for the industry and the most powerful fashion insider yet to speak out on the weight debate. "No one thinks that for a girl to be fashionable she needs to be anorexic, that she must not eat. I will only take on healthy girls," he said. Armani made the comments on the red carpet of one of the most anticipated events of the fashion calendar and the hottest ticket of this week’s London Fashion Week. Before rock stars and actors, the 72-year-old designer hosted a three-hour show and launched a new fashion collection in support of (PRODUCT) RED, an activism venture of U2 rock star Bono aimed at raising funds to fight AIDS in Africa.

Good for him and if we can more top designers to say stuff like that maybe others will follow suit.

Someone please get Barbara Streisand a bra ASAP
September 22nd, 2006 under Barbra Streisand, Celeb Oops. [ Comments: none ]

You would think that by the age of 64, most women would be self-conscious enough to ensure their choice of evening wear does not expose parts of the body which have…well dropped below standards. But no one seems to have shared this with legendary entertainer Barbra Streisand as she stepped out in this rather unflattering black dress at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York. Streisand seemed to forget what a photographer’s flash can do to a black dress as she unwittingly revealed she had left the black bra tucked up in her drawer at home. But this was not the first time Streisand has been left emmbarrased by the camera. Last month she was snapped outside her LA home looking like she had given her make-up artist and hairdresser the day off.

Daily Mail

Oh the horror, the image is etched in my memory and it just won’t go away.
This is not the ’60s, she is in her 60s. She needs to wear a bra!

As TMZ first reported, Phillips was arrested and booked on August 11, 2006 for an argument with his girlfriend that turned physical. Police were called to the actor’s home around 2:00 a.m. and found the couple in a heated argument. TMZ has obtained documents, filed today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, that say Phillips "unlawfully used force and violence upon the person." The charge comes with a maximum of one year in jail and a $2000 dollar fine. Phillips is due back in court for arraignment on October 18, 2006. A call to Phillips’ reps was not immediately returned.

Well just that killed any career resurgence, he could’ve had.

TMZ

I can not wait for Ghost Whisperer tomorrow night on CBS at 8p! Although I have to admit I am kind of nervous what changes they are going to make to the show this season.
