Like OMG! How totally cool is this picture?
July 6th, 2006 under 80s. [ Comments: none ]

Here on a Sony soundstage, the ’80s are so back, they might have never ended.Weird Science’s Kelly LeBrock, gaudy in a scarlet jacket that impeccably matches her puffy pout, gets her reddish mane curled by a stylist. Near her is fellow burgundy-haired songstress Tiffany, a vision of garishness in sequins and taffeta under a sweeping black coat and leggings.Standing alone and keeping to himself is Miami Vice’s detective Philip Michael Thomas, 57, in a jaunty fedora. When the director barks out "You’re on!" LeBrock, 46, flips her head upside down and tousles those tresses, her face expressionless. Moving to the stage, she stands next to Tiffany, 34, and the two start bopping to an imagined rhythm as cameras roll and record their exaggeratedly choppy dance moves. They’re here — along with one-time bad boy Corey Feldman (’80s flicks The Goonies, The Lost Boys), Dallas darling Charlene Tilton, hoops legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and more — to shoot a commercial for the Trivial Pursuit Totally ’80s edition, out this month ($30).The director is an ’80s icon herself: She Bopper Cyndi Lauper, 53, who also happens to be starring in The Threepenny Opera on Broadway."Move closer in," she orders Tiffany, who swishes the tufts of orange, yellow and pink taffeta attached to her black knee-length leggings and laughs as she moves closer to Feldman, 34."Everybody into place! Please move!" Lauper shouts in a gravelly Noo Yawk accent. "Get in your position, please. Everybody squeeze into each other."Most of the stars got involved after getting calls from Lauper herself, and they relish reliving their professional glory days."I wanted to celebrate these people who were ’80s icons," the director says. "Wouldn’t it be great to have them come and have an ’80s party and celebrate the vitality and humor of it? Remember Charlene Tilton in Dallas? Philip Michael Thomas was great. Tiffany — what a great voice."The ’80s, says Lauper, were "a very creative time. People did wild things."There were the bad hairdos and tacky moments, but people had the courage to have a bad hairdo. The fashion police meant nothing to us then."

Urban bouquet catcher couldn’t keep it.
July 6th, 2006 under Keith & Nicole Urban. [ Comments: none ]

The New Zealand woman who caught NICOLE KIDMAN’s wedding bouquet had to leave the coveted flowers at the airport when she discovered she wasn’t allowed to fly out of Australia carrying plants. Retirement village manager EVELYN WHITE, best friend of groom KEITH URBAN’s mother MARIENNE (corr), claims New Zealand’s bio-security laws would have made it impossible for her to cross the Tasman Sea with her prized possession. The celebrity couple tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony at Cardinal Ceretti Memorial Chapel near Sydney, Australia on 25 June (06). Kidman carried an elegant bouquet of white roses and gardenias, which were arranged by Sydney florist SIMONE GOOCH. White was able to score the prestigious prize when it landed near her after Kidman’s bouquet toss from a balcony missed a group of women waiting to catch it. She quips, "What can a girl do when it falls at her feet?" A disappointed White reluctantly handed the ultimate celebrity wedding souvenir back to Mrs Urban and the country singer’s father, BOB, when she learned she would be forced to leave it behind.

Dude, if it were me, I would’ve fought harder to keep that bouquet than I do at normal weddings.

Another boy for Russell Crowe
July 6th, 2006 under Russell Crowe. [ Comments: none ]

Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe, 42, and his wife Danielle Spencer, 36, have welcomed the birth of their son, Tenyson Spencer Crowe. The baby, weighing in at 8 pounds, was born at 7:27 AM on July 7 at the Royal North Shore hospital in Sydney, Australia.
“Mother, father and baby are doing extremely well,” says manager Grant Vandenberg.
The couple already have a son, Charlie, 2. Both sons have the middle name Spencer after Danielle Spencer’s maiden name. Earlier this year, Crowe explained to Tonight Show host Jay Leno how they shared the happy news with their toddler.
“He knows where the baby is in Mommy’s tummy and knows that he was a baby once and there’s another baby coming along,” Crowe said. “And we said, ‘Bubba, what do you want to call your brother?’ and his first option was Pumpkinhead. But then the next day, he revised it and he changed it to Stinky.”
The couple met in 1989 when they costarred in the 1990 film The Crossing, and married in April 2003

Now this is a book I would read!
July 6th, 2006 under Robert Downey Jr.. [ Comments: none ]

Robert Downey Jr., whose own life story at times has been gripping, intends to write his memoirs.
The 41-year-old actor has signed a deal with HarperEntertainment, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, the company announced Thursday. The book is set to be released in 2008.
The publisher, which did not disclose the terms of pact, promised a "candid look at the highs and lows of his life and career."
"He has an intelligence which shines through all his performances, revealing his intellect as well as his acting abilities," Marjorie Braman, an executive with the publishing company, said Thursday. "His dramatic personal life, often at odds with his career, adds a layer of complexity to who he is."
He suffered from recurring drug and alcohol problems in the 1990s, prison time, court-ordered rehab and probation that ended in 2002.

Like father, like daughter
July 6th, 2006 under Paris Hilton. [ Comments: none ]

Nicky Hilton is getting into the hotel business, she told PEOPLE on Thursday.
"I’ve always wanted to do it," says the lodging heiress who plans to renovate two existing buildings to open the "Nicky O" on Miami’s famed Ocean Boulevard in November. "I’ve been around hotels my whole life, and I know a good hotel when I see one."
Shortly after, her second Nicky O will open on Chicago’s historic Printer’s Row. "Miami will definitely be a party destination, and Chicago will be a little more calm," she says. The 94-room boutique/condo accommodation will include entertainment news tickers in the elevators, a signature scent and rooms deigned by friends – including $5,000-a-night penthouse by clothing designer Roberto Cavalli.
Although Hilton, 22, comes from a family with an expertise it hotels, she isn’t partnering with the clan to fund her new project. "I’ll go to my family for advice, but they’re not involved at all," she says of her parents, brothers, and sister Paris.
Still, she is a Hilton: Borrowing a phrase from sister Paris, Nicky says of the Miami hotel’s lobby, which will include a giant chandelier at its center and lots of marble: "Its just so beautiful – and hot."
As for her private life, she says everything with her boyfriend, Entourage star Kevin Connolly, is "good" – but she’s focusing on her career right now, including shooting ads for her bag line and feverishly working to get the hotels ready to open. "This is my summer," she says of her latest endeavor.
