McPriss’ letter to her fans
July 12th, 2006 under American Idol 1-5. [ Comments: none ]

It has come to my attention that there has been some concern about a photo shoot and my presence being missing from the tour. I want you all to know first before I get into this that I had no control over the fact that I couldn’t be on tour for the next couple of weeks. My doctor shut me down. I was absolutely devasted. I feel horrible for the fans that missed me and would love to make up to you all some how. But first and foremost I must get better so that I can have a great and long carreer. I want to be able to see you all your faces one day on my very own tour. There have been many rumors circulating as to what I’m doing with all this down time. I have heard a rumor that I will be missing the entire tour, I can assure you that that is completely false. I am looking to join the tour around the 21st. That is the doctors orders, not mine.

I hope everyone knows these crazy gossip websites make up stories to make money.  It leaves all of you in question when they spread ridiculous rumors. Only believe it if it comes directly from me or my family.  If it comes from somewhere else, then it probably isn’t true. Now that being said, I want people to know that I am NOT bed ridden. I’m no longer contagious. I don’t have to be a prisoner in my L.A. home. My management company is still trying to utilize this down time. That includes an upcoming photo shoot, meetings with song writers, listening to demos from all different studios and lots of late night movies!!!! (HEHE to occupy my time) I’m simply not allowed to talk. Please also understand that in the upcoming future there’s going to be TONS of rumors and mean things that people say and do to try and bring me down. Sadly, that’s just the way this business works. Just know that in the future I probably won’t be able to clarify everything that is said in the media.

I hope that this has cleared up some stuff. I’m still dedicated to my fans and putting out the best album possible for all my fans. I love you all and please know that I would never intentionally miss idol shows so I can work on my own individual career. The idol tour is my first priority. I want to get back as soon as I can. I have not said one word in over a week an a half. Believe me, I would much rather be healthy than not. I love you all sooooo much and look forward to seeing the rest of you on tour. Again, I’m so sorry for the dates I have missed thus far. I feel deeply connected to all my fans and am working this week on continuing working on the fan mail. That is also very important to me. Much love to you all.

Best,

Death did wonders for Johnny Cash’s record sales
July 12th, 2006 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

Even in death, Johnny Cash is still mighty enough to top The Billboard 200. "American V: A Hundred Highways" earns the Man in Black his first No. 1 album since 1969’s "Johnny Cash at San Quentin" with 88,000 copies sold in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
The American Recordings/Lost Highway effort also crowns the Top Country Albums tally, knocking the Dixie Chicks’ "Taking the Long Way" (Columbia) to No. 2 after seven weeks on top.
Though the top debut is a great posthumous achievement, the Rick Rubin-produced "American V" sold the fewest copies of a No. 1 debut since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. The previous low for a No. 1 debut belonged to Destiny’s Child’s "#1’s" in 2005, which started with 113,000.

Rivers Cuomo graduates Harvard, gets married and splits from Weezer?
July 12th, 2006 under Weezer. [ Comments: none ]

Weezer could never make a record again, according to singer Rivers Cuomo.
The band’s last album was 2005’s ‘Make Believe’.
"For the moment we are done. And I’m not certain we’ll ever make a record again, unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need to do one," he said.
Cuomo said that he had been writing lots of songs, but not for the band.
He revealed: "All this year, I’ve been feeling pretty creative and excited, so I’ve been writing a lot. I don’t know what’ll happen with these songs – if anything – I just sort of write them and I can’t stop. I certainly don’t see them becoming Weezer songs, and I don’t really see the point of a solo career. So we’ll just have to wait and see."
Titles of two of the new tracks are ‘Heart Songs’ and ‘Our Time Will Come’.
Although the end of the band is in sight, Cuomo does not want to release a ‘Greatest Hits’.
"I’m not convinced that we have a greatest hits album that is worth putting out at this point. I’d like to include two more amazing songs on there. And anything else would just seem lazy to me. We’ll see, though. I don’t really feel comfortable with it now," he told MTV.

My 2 cents, on where is Suri?
July 12th, 2006 under Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes/Suri. [ Comments: none ]

"If and when they do make a decision, it will be at their discretion and not anybody else’s" Arnold Robinson, Tom Cruise’s publicist said.

Personally I think Tom Cruise is kind of like Michael Jackson when it comes to fatherhood. (Not in a molestation way) If you think about it, paparazzi is monitoring his house 24/7 and no one has seen her. That means they are keeping her trapped in the house and she needs sunlight. She needs to go to the doctor, she needs to be free from the closet. And also how can mom just go to Telluride and leave her baby? For a year they threw their relationship and pregnancy in our faces and now they are silent like Katie’s birthing experience. I mean what the hell is so awful about Suri that we have not seen her. Is it that obvious, like Jacko’s kids that, she is not his? So Tom, Free, free, set her free! And we thought Britney was a bad mom?

Just like Patty Hearst, South Park released from the closet
July 12th, 2006 under Comedy Central, South Park. [ Comments: none ]

Comedy Central has scheduled a July 19 airdate for "Trapped in the Closet," the South Park episode that spoofed Tom Cruise and Scientology, Variety reports. The controversial outing premiered in November 2005, then was pulled from the repeat roster in May supposedly because a displeased Cruise threatened to not pimp M:i:III for Paramount — which, like Comedy Central, is owned by Viacom. Speaking of Tom, his spokesperson has given the Associated Press a statement regarding baby Suri, who rather conspicuously has yet to have her own coming-out party: "If and when [Cruise and Katie Holmes] do make a decision [to show Suri to the public], it will be at their discretion and not anybody else’s."

TV Guide

Amazing what an Emmy nomination can do for a show. So I wonder what we will see first Suri (Surrender) or this episode? This episode duh!
