In June 2016, Renée Elise Goldsberry won a Tony for her performance in Hamilton as Angelica Schuyler. I think what solidified her win was her solo in the musical.
Any Hamilfan can attempt to sing Satisfied like she did, but they will fail every time. But they might have a better chance with her version of the showtune off of her album, Who I Really Am.
I didn’t think I would be Satisfied with any other version of the song, but I might love this one even more.
Teddy Swims’ haunting song Lose Yourself is the type of single that stays with you. So that could be why it just broke a Billboard 100 record for the longest run on that chart. It has been there for a record-breaking 92 weeks.
It has come a long way since it debuted at 99 on August 26, 2003. It finally hit #1 in March 2024. And this week, it is charting at #11.
I want to say my hopes for the tune’s future on the chart, but I don’t want to jinx its run. So, I will post about it if/when it happens
The previous record holder was Glass Animals’ Heat Waves.
Tracy Chapman released her song Fast Cars 35 years ago, and last year, Luke Combs rerecorded it.
This year, he was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for his cover of the single.
So, when they asked him to perform the hit during the telecast, he said that he is not going to do it solo. He was going to do it as a duet with Chapman.
And their rendition did not disappoint. It moved everyone inside and outside of that room to have all the feels.
