Katharine McPhee was scheduled to guest host on Wednesday, but her name is no longer on the schedule. She is still absent from the tour. She is expected to join her fellow idols on tour sometime this week.

Wow! It never stops! Well, I guess it will stop someday……Hamlet talked about that and said…"It will come!". Yes it will, but until then I will keep on movin’! Lots of great stuff going on….I’m goin’ to Broadway! I’m gonna do Chicago!!! I’ll do it sometime next spring. How about that??? I’ve always wanted to do a Broadway show but never thought it would happen. Wow! I went to NYC a couple of weeks ago and did a "work session" which really was an audition. Something magical happened in that room. My muse came down and covered me with light. What can I say? It was like a dream! And I’m working on a book as well as lots of other stuff that I can’t really talk about yet. Belle gray is doing great….thanks for the support. Batman director Tim Burton is reportedly set to direct a music video for rock band The Killers.The acclaimed film-maker, who directed films such as Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, is a huge fan of the Las Vegas rockers.Burton reportedly visited the group in a London studio recently as they worked on their as-yet-untitled second album and suggested he shoot their next music clip.According to reports, Burton is expected to film a video for either Bones or Read My Mind, both of which feature on the bands forthcoming album. The Somebody Told Me singers are scheduled to release their new single, When You Were Young on September 18.

Fox keeps House at 9 |

Fox’s new hostage-negotiator drama "Standoff" will debut September 5 in the coveted spot behind the network’s top drama, "House." For the first four weeks of its run, before Fox’s Tuesday lineup goes on hiatus to make room for postseason baseball coverage, "Standoff" will swap time slots with "House," airing at 9 p.m. instead of the previously announced 8 p.m. berth. Fox has been double-pumping repeats of "House" at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesdays this summer."We think that no matter if ‘House’ is on at 8 or 9 p.m., the audience will be there for the show," said Preston Beckman, Fox’s executive vp strategic program planning. "We love the ‘Standoff’ pilot, and we think this is going to be a great night of television."Given the fact that neither "Standoff" nor "House" are heavily serialized, Beckman doesn’t expect any detrimental effect on the shows from the pre-emption.

I’m guessing that it’s Britney Spears, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, who’s the inspiration for an upcoming "Law & Order" episode airing this fall. The show, which prides itself on "ripped- from-the- headlines" storylines – embel lished, of course – goes back into pro duction to morrow. Spies say one particular script revolves around "tabloids, drugs, stalk erazzi and a young superstar whose lack of parenting skills might lead to murder." Spears has made headlines regarding her care of infant son Sean, including placing him in a car seat facing the wrong way and tripping and nearly dropping him while holding a glass in one hand – incidents captured by "stalke razzi" (the new-ish term for paparazzi).
