BAYWATCH creator DAVID HASSELHOFF has been forced to scrap plans to play CAPTAIN HOOK in a London Christmas (06) pantomime – because he’s too busy. The newly-single star was all set to team up with British comic BOBBY DAVRO in a quirky version of PETER PAN at the New Wimbledon Theatre, but he’s had to pull out of the production. According to Whatsonstage.com, the show’s producers, First Family Entertainment, are "in negotiations to secure a major star to take on the role." Former ER star ALEX KINGSTON refuses to lose weight to conform to Hollywood expectations. The English actress is nervous about returning to Tinseltown now she has finished London play ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, as she fears she won’t get work because she won’t diet down. Kingston tells, "There is a lot of pressure and it’s the fascism of beauty. "I’m going to LA now, back home to be a jobbing actor, and it will be very interesting to see what becomes of me over there, because I won’t succumb to that. I don’t want to have to lose 25 pounds (11 kilograms) just to have a job."

Friends of new mum Katie Holmes have become concerned about the new actress as she has reportedly lost two stone since giving birth to baby daughter Suri in April.

Holmes is said to be desperate to regain her svelte figure in time for her rumoured summer wedding to actor Tom Cruise.

However, friends believe Holmes is pushing herself to hard, one told the Daily Star: "Katie has embarked on a hardcore fitness regime and does 200 sit-ups a day, combined with two hours of cardio work before pilates.

"She has eaten healthily since giving birth but now her friends are worried she has dropped two dress sizes in too short a period of time.

"She is rushing around all of the time and is on hand for the baby 24 hours a day.

"Her weight is just rapidly falling off. It can’t be good and has got to be very stressful."

I suppose that’s just life in the Cruise household…she had better get used to being stressed.

CBSNEWS parent company VIACOM has began placing ads slamming its very own Katie Couric!

The company’s DAILY SHOW rips EVENING-NEWS-to-be Couric, alleging "fake news" is on the way for viewers this fall when the former TODAY queen takes the anchor chair.

"It’s all in good humor," said a CBS executive from New York.

"Everyone knows Ms. Couric is an outstanding journalist."
