Seriously? OMG! WTF?

WEST PALM BEACH Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs Monday evening.

Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when customs officials found a Viagra prescription that did not bear his name. Instead, the bottle of pills had the names of two doctors on it according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents examined the 55-year-old’s luggage after his private plane landed at the airport from the Dominican Republic. The matter was then turned over to the Sheriff’s Office. Investigators seized the drugs – used to treat erectile dysfunction – from Limbaugh.

Limbaugh was detained for about three hours and was let go after cooperating with officials. He could be facing a second-degree misdemeanor violation if the State Attorney’s office presses charges.

Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.

Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.

Limbaugh’s attorney, Roy Black, issued the following statement:

"While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh’s treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey."

Heavy metal rockers TWISTED SISTER are celebrating their 30th anniversary by releasing a collection of deranged holiday songs. The band is so intent on finishing their album in time for the Christmas season, they have cancelled all performances at European festivals this summer (06). The new album, A TWISTED CHRISTMAS, will feature a heavy metal take on holiday classics including DECK THE HALLS and O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL. The album is scheduled for release on 17 October (06).

LATEST: British pop singer BOY GEORGE has criticised his community service punishment for falsely reporting a burglary, insisting a fundraising concert for an AIDS charity would have been a more worthwhile.The star, real name GEORGE O’DOWD was sentenced in Manhattan Criminal Court, New York City yesterday (26JUN06), for wasting police time when he called them to his Little Italy apartment in October 2005 claiming he had been robbed. Upon arrival, officers found a large quantity of cocaine in the singer’s home. In March (06), O’Dowd was given a conditional discharge plus a $1,000 (GBP550) fine and ordered to go on a drug rehabilitation programme. Following yesterday’s hearing, the former CULTURE CLUB frontman said, "It would have been more useful to make 30 grand ($30,000) with a concert, rather than be prancing around in a park. I could have raised some money, could have done something that would have helped. "I don’t care about doing cleaning up. My mum was a cleaner. I’ve always been a scrubber." O’Dowd has promised to dress up in "something loud" when he performs his community service in a New York park in August (06).

THE VILLAGE star BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD has wed her longtime boyfriend in Connecticut. 7th Heaven actress Katie Cassidy, 19, has beaten out Jessica Simpson and Kristin Cavallari for the role that they were both up for in the new Dallas movie (also starring J. Lo and John Travolta’s enormous head). Cassidy, who is the daughter of former teen idol David Cassidy and most recently starred in the film Click, will play the character Lucy Ewing.
 
“Producers wanted to steer clear of the drama and also thought Katie was simply better for the role,” a source tells Us Weekly.
 
Jennifer Lopez, who has been cast as alcoholic Sue Ellen, reportedly didn’t want Simpson, 25, as a costar in the upcoming big-screen version of the television series. “She’s hoping for a no-name actress [to play wild Lucy Ewing],” a source told Us in May. “Jennifer doesn’t want a diva on the set.”
 
Even the original Lucy, Charlene Tilton, 47, didn’t want to see Simpson in the role, preferring 19-year-old Lindsay Lohan instead. “Jessica is beautiful but too old,” said Tilton. “I had just turned 17 when we started filming. It’s more exciting if Lucy is doing all of these things…out of high school. [Lindsay Lohan] is a great choice.”
