What was the point of bringing back Randall’s mom on This Is Us?
January 6th, 2021 under This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

Right before the This Is Us went on Winter break, we found that Randall’s mom did not die right after he was born. Therefore, I thought they were going to have a happy reunion. Well, there would be tears because it is This Is Us, but still happy.

Well, yesterday, when the show finally returned, we found out that she died five years ago. So what is the point? It feels like a jump the shark moment. Like what else can we do to Randall? We killed off both of his dads; now let kill off one of his moms. The mom he thought was dead. It just makes no sense to me.

What also doesn’t make sense, to me, is how did she even know he was her son? She never spoke to Randall’s dad after she died, so how would she know he was taken to the firehouse and adopted by the Pearsons? And if she knew where he was, then why didn’t she go to find him?

I am sure they have something planned. I just don’t know if I care. Just like they have run out of plotlines for Kate. Let’s reveal she had an abortion when she was 18 because she got pregnant from her abusive boyfriend. Then let’s have her confront him so she could feel better about herself.

It really feels like they are just filling time until their planned ending for the show. And they are not doing a good job. I have been losing interest in the show for a while. With storylines like this, they are not going to keep me interested.

Am I the only one?

How does Milo Ventimiglia think Jack will react to Rebecca moving on?
November 9th, 2020 under Jimmy Fallon, Milo Ventimiglia, This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

On this season of This Is Us, we are going to see how Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Miguel (Jon Huertas) got together. This past Friday, when Milo Ventimiglia was a guest on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon asked him how he thinks Jack will react to their relationship.

“Jack’s dead! So it really doesn’t matter what Jack thinks,” Ventimiglia said. The actor did go on to say that Jack loved his family so much that he would want his wife and children to be happy.

Ventimiglia also said that sometimes it is hard to live up to what a good a person his character is. Therefore, if you ever hear Milo talking about Jack’s flaws. That is him trying to let himself off the hook for not being as good of a person as Jack.

I set up an interview with Ventimiglia back when he was on Gilmore Girls. Let me tell you, there is a lot of Jack in him. You can’t play that good of a guy without being one. The audience can tell when someone is not as nice as their character. That is why some people are always the bitch or the villain.

The This Is Us patriarch also revealed how Mandy Moore told the cast that she is going to be a mother. They were all on Zoom call, catching up. When they got to her, she timidly told them she is pregnant. They were all so happy for her. Ventimiglia says he is so thrilled that someone as great and amazing as her is going to be mom influencing a child. That gives him hope for Earth.

Hopefully, he will be next!

Justin Hartley shows the dangers of working on a set during COVID-19
October 8th, 2020 under Justin Hartley, This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

Justin Hartley is filming a scene with his TV sister, Chrissy Metz, today. While they were waiting to go on camera, they were locked in the new on-set cages.

Well, I guess he forgot we are living in a different time, so he banged his head on the plexiglass when he went to greet his This Is Us co-star. Ouch! On the bright side, at least he doesn’t haven’t COVID-19.

Let’s hope for the makeup department that didn’t leave a black and blue mark.

See the cast of This Is Us in their cages
October 2nd, 2020 under This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

As we know, COVID-19 has changed the way Hollywood films its projects. One of the differences is that while actors are waiting to film or go over lines on stage, they have to sit in little blocked off wooden and plexiglass cubicles.

This Is Us’ director Ken Olin shared a video of Mandy Moore, Jon Huertas, Chrissy Metz, and Chris Sullivan in their cages. To me, it reminds me of when I go to a pet store, and all of the cats and dogs are in their confined spaces. Therefore, I have to ask you how much is that actor in the window, and which one do you want to take home with you?

NBC is changing up their premiere dates
September 24th, 2020 under NBC, This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

Since 2020 is all about being sad, NBC is moving This Is Us’ season premiere up two weeks. The melancholy drama is now debuting on October 27th instead of November 10th.

Since it is moving up two weeks, Connecting and Superstore are each debuting a week later. Connecting, the sitcom that is shot via smartphones and Zoom, will now premiere on October 8th at 8p.

Then on October 29th, it will move to 8:30p to make room for Superstore. NBC revealed that America Ferrera will guest star on the first two episodes to wrap up her character. She announced, before the coronavirus pandemic, that she would not be returning to the sitcom this season. Since production was shut down before she shot her farewell episodes, they made sure that Amy will get a proper sendoff.

While they are dealing with a sendoff, Saturday Night Live is dealing with homecoming. They will be returning to 30 Rock for the season premiere. Today, we found out that Chris Rock is hosting, and Megan Thee Stallion is the musical guest.

Got it? Good because I don’t.

UPDATE: Mandy Moore is not only playing pregnant on This Is Us, but she is also pregnant in real life. She revealed on Instagram that “Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021 💙” This is the first child for Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith. The two were married in November of 2018.
