When we last left off with The Last Man on Earth, we caught a quick glimpse of Fred Armisen as he made his debut on the brilliant, touching and funny sitcom. Tonight at 9:30p on Fox, we get to learn a lot more about his character Karl in a standalone episode.
Karl is a guy who lives on his own. The type of guy who goes out on dates with a Leighton Meester type, but goes home all by himself.
Then one day he makes a mistake and he flees to Mexico to start a new life. On the way there, he meets our special guest star of the night and they share an unforgettable moment. When he settles in Mexico, he begins his new life. Just when he decides to change his ways, the virus happens. Now everyone around him is dead and he is living all by himself.
That is until Tandy (Will Forte) and Tood (Mel Rodriguez) find him. What happens next, we will have to wait until next week to find out.
What I am not telling you, is why I will never be able to look at Armisen the same way. Why? You will just have to tune in to find out. Not only for that but all because LMOE is a witty comedy with so much heart, it will leave you starting the work week off with a huge smile on your face. As long as you don’t hone in on the fact that it is post-apocalyptic show about a virus that wiped out almost everyone on Earth and the few survivors are trying to repopulate the world. Survivors who get to live out some of their fantasies because who is going to stop them? See a fell good way to end your Sunday nights.
Before there was Saturday Night Live, there was National Lampoon. Several of the people who worked with the National Lampoon, went on to SNL. A Futile and Stupid Gesture is the story of the people behind the magazine that changed comedy forever with their magazine and their films.
Will Forte leads the wacky group of people who made the ’70s even funnier. Plus, who doesn’t want to see how Joel McHale plays his former co-star Chevy Chase. That has to be an Oscar worthy performance if I ever heard one.
Therefore mark your calendars for January 26th because that is when retro humor will be current again.
January Jones was on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday to promote The Last Man on Earth and the ABC late host asked her if it is fun to film the show. She told him yes because “It’s just [Will] Forte like walking around farting.” Then she revealed her nickname for him, “Will Farte.” If that was not bad enough, Kimmel said he has heard a lot people talking about her boss’ flatulence. After he told a story about the actor, Jones said she heard worse and told us to use our imaginations. I am afraid to on this one. How do you think he cut the cheese?
Would Farte be embarrassed by her sharing this information? She says, “He’ll be so pleased.” Is it wrong I want to have a personal farting story about him? Don’t answer that, it is.
What I do not think is wrong, is how much I love The Last Man on Earth. I really hope you share my love for it every Sunday night on Fox at 9:30p. Heck, you might even here him fart and farts always funny when they are done by someone else.

Last week, when The Last Man on Earth ended its episode, we saw Carol (Kristen Schaal), Melissa (January Jones), Todd (Mel Rodriguez), Gail (Mary Steenburgen), Jasper (Keith L. Williams), Erica (Cleopatra Coleman) and her newborn, aimlessly sailing away on the dingy that Pamela (Kristen Wiig) pushed them away in after she knocked out Tandy (Will Forte) in order to hold him hostage.
Tonight at 9:30p on Fox, they are left drifting away at sea hoping to find some land to call their home as they seek refuge from the nuclear dust cloud that is coming their way. Once they finally find an island, they discover they are not alone. There is another man (a mystery guest star who you will know who he is as soon as you see him), that has been there since before the virus happened. Meaning he has no idea it happened. How do you tell him that everyone but them is dead?
But back to Tandy, will he be able to get away from his kidnapper? Does he want to get away with her? Is the last episode we will see the two of them? Are the islanders getting their own show? How long will that Christopher Cross duet of Sailing go on for? You will just have to tune in to find out on the best comedy that not enough people are watching! Therefore, TUNE IN!

Game of Thrones is on hiatus for a really long time, but The Simpsons is back on Fox tonight and every Sunday at 8p. Not only will that give you something to do until that other show comes back, but tonight on the season premiere they merge both shows. That’s right they pay homage to the show with dinosaurs. When Marge’s mom (who knew she was still alive) gets sick, Lisa and Homer need to find an amulet to make her better. The older Simpson daughter needs to use her magic in a place where you cannot use it. What will she do? You will have to tune into a show that a 25 is just as good as its first and tenth and 17th season.
Then at 8:30p, Adam Scott and Craig Robinson are recruited to investigate the paranormal on Ghosted. Recruited is the wrong word, kidnapped from the jobs they do not want to be at, are the right ones. Leo Wright (Robinson) is a former LAPD cop, who was the best missing person’s investigator, until his partner was killed. Now he is a mall cop. Max Jennifer (Scott) was a Harvard professor, who wrote a book about the multiverse, and he lost his job when everyone thought he was crazy because he believes his wife was abducted. He works at book store to make ends meet.
Their lives are about to change when an agent in Bureau Underground, who investigate the paranormal and anything outside the science realm, goes missing. Before he did, he recorded a video and told his co-workers to find Wright and Jennifer to help locate him. Now, they are brought in to find him. What will they find out?
Think of this like a lifelike version of Scooby Doo, but with adults, no van and no dog. It is a lot of fun because it brings together two actors who work perfectly together. As long as you do not remember they did Hot Tub Time Machine 2 2gether!

Finally at 9:30p, The Last Man on Earth is back. But they are not on solid earth, instead they are on boat trying to escape the nuclear cloud that is coming their way.
The episode picks up where it left off, with Pamela Brinton (Kristen Wiig) just shooting Pat (Mark Boone Junior). She is not alone, she has a special A-List guest star with her. Because what would a season premiere be without one shocking(ly awesome) cameo?
Once they get rid of Pat, it is time for Pamela, Tandy (Will Forte), Carol (Kristen Schaal), Melissa (January Jones), Todd (Mel Rodriguez), Erica (Cleopatra Coleman) and her newborn, Gail (Mary Steenburgen) and Jasper (Keith L. Williams) to hit the high seas. They are on their way to Mexico and it looks like it will be smooth sailing. That is until, they think they are anchored in for the night, but they are not. Now they have no idea where they are after floating all night long. Where will their adventure take us?
We will have to tune in every week for a show that finds a way to surprise us in every episode. Whether it be a death, a cameo or a twist you never saw coming. LMOE is one of the most brilliant and enjoyable shows on television and more of you should be watching this gem!
