Tonight at the VMAs, they wanted to pay tribute to Aretha Franklin. They thought, who can we get to it do it? Let’s see who is the oldest person here? Steven Tyler, yes he is the oldest but not him. What about Madonna? She is 60 and from Detroit, she would be perfect.
Perfectly awful that is because she made the speech all about her. She revealed that singing (You Make Me Feel) Like a Natural Woman helped her at an audition when she did not have a song prepared. Who cares? It is not always about Madonna. To her yes, to us no.
Madge better hope that Aretha is happy heaven. If not, you know she will be haunting her for that memoriam.
Then again, Madonna might be upset because Aretha’s death upstaged her 60th birthday on Thursday. Madonna probably thought it was going to be all about her but instead it was all about Aretha’s death day.

37 years ago, the music world was rocked by the birth of MTV. Today, to celebrate the day that video killed the radio star, Martha Quinn, who was an original VJ shared this photo of herself raising a glass for the anniversary.
Back then she was just 22 years old and ready for her MTV. Now, she is 59-year-old radio star who hosts I Heart the ’80s weekday mornings from the Bay Area. Therefore, I guess you can say radio killed the video star?
One thing that time has not killed is her looks, she looks better now than she did then.

You will never forget the first video you saw on music television, so what was yours? Mine was Big Country’s In a Big Country. To this day, I still smile when I hear the tune and cry a little when I think the lead singer, Stuart Adamson, is no longer with us.
Even though the Backstreet Boys are releasing new music and have their own Vegas residency, they were seen performing at a place much less glamorous than Sin City. They did a concert in a very small venue as in an elevator. So is this where their career is heading?
Before you think they are going down, it was all on the up and up because it was for a TRL bit. But who would not want to see the boyband in a little moving metal box? Talk about intimate. Especially, when it is crowded!
There have been a lot of shows that people want to see revived, but I don’t think anyone was begging for the return of Jersey Shore. I guess I am wrong because MTV announced that, “We’re back bitches.” That’s right Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino are all back for Jersey Shore Family Vacation. What that means we will find out soon enough. If we care.
BTW Why is this airing on MTV and not VH1 because haven’t they aged out of MTV. I mean those of them that are parents, all had their kids when they weren’t teens, and that makes them like old in the world of MTV. Right?
While most casts on reality shows never want to speak to each other ever again, Jersey Shore is not like all of the others. Almost 5 years after the show ended, most of the partiers reunited for a special occasion. Deena Cortes got married to Christopher Buckner in NJ, of course, and The Situation, JWoww, DJ Pauly D, Snooki, Sweetheart and Vinny were all there to see them say I do. Then I am sure they partied like they were back in their house on Jersey Shore. Because after all, you can take them out of Seaside Heights, but you cannot take Seaside Heights out of them.
