Tom Hanks brings back the Shimmy, Shimmy Cocoa Pop and it is Big!
October 25th, 2016 under Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

Remember when you saw Bog and you loved how Tom Hanks tickled the huge ivy on the floor of FAO Schwartz with his feet? That was pure happiness moment in the movie, but it was one of many. We also adored when he sang Shimmy, Shimmy Cocoa Pop with his best friend.
Now 28 years later, Wong Fu Productions asked him to sing that childhood tune and it brings just as huge of a smile on his face.
Almost everything thing Hanks does is pure joy! He is a national treasure and I am glad we get to enjoy him when ever we want.

Captain “Sully” Sullenberger as Hanks
September 9th, 2016 under Jimmy Kimmel, Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

We know that Tom Hanks is playing Captain “Sully” Sullenberger in Sully, but did you know that Captain “Sully” Sullenberger is playing Tom Hanks in Hanks? He is and yesterday on Jimmy Kimmmel Jimmy Kimmmel Live they debuted the trailer for what should be this year’s biggest Oscar contender.
Not only will Sully be eating a box of chocolates on Oscar Sunday, he will be taking home the gold statuette too. He won’t be the only one doing it that night because Peter Scolari also gives an Oscar Winning performance as himself in the movie. It actually brought tears to my eyes to see him in Hildie’s wig again from Bosom Buddies. So many emotions.

Tom Hanks called Stephen Colbert an a$$hole!
April 22nd, 2016 under Stephen Colbert, Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

Tom Hanks was a guest on The Late Show yesterday and the two of them were talking about pouring Bailey’s Cream into a bowl of Lucky Charms. Then Stephen Colbert said that he had those ingredients handy. To which Forrest Gump responded, “How about you share that with your guest, a$$hole?” The way he said it, it is as beautiful as all the colorful marshmallows in the sugary cereal.
So how did they like the new breakfast of champions? So much so, I am off to buy some Lucky Charms and Bailey’s Cream to try it out for myself.

December 22nd, 2015 under Before They Were Famous, Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

Before Tom Hanks was a Professor in The Da Vinci Code, he was a psych major in He Knows You’re Alone. He looks the same now as he did when he was 23 in that 1980 movie.

Jay Leno plans on taking over The Late Late Show in 3 months!
March 24th, 2015 under James Corden, Jay Leno, Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday was the debut of The Late Late Show with James Corden and CBS called in a lot of favors to make sure his opening bit was filled with big named celebrities. The bit explained how he got the job and it was Willy Wonka-esque as in people who were rumored for the position searched for the Golden Ticket. When Chelsea Handler accidentally dropped her chocolate bar, Corden found it and got the Golden Ticket aka job. The Wonka of the segment was Jay Leno and he helped to prep the CBS late night host for his job. When the former Tonight Show host was done with the training, he declared, “In three months, this show will be mine.” It’s not like Leno hasn’t done it before… But I don’t think he would really go for it? Or would he???
Another fun thing the show did last night on CBS at 12:35a was they had guest, Tom Hanks, reenact a lot of his movies with Corden in just under 7 minutes. The only negative is it included a lot of his newer movies, and I forgot how horrible they were. I actually blocked Road to Perdition out of my mind until they brought it up. I also wish they would’ve included two of his most popular TV show appearances, Bosom Buddies and Family Ties. Who didn’t down some Vanilla Extract as kid after they saw him on Family Ties?
When it comes to The Late Late Show with James Corden, it reminded me a lot of Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Oscar specials. Even Kimmel can only do those one night year, so it will be interesting to see how Corden does next week when the thrill of his debut week is over. What did you think of his first show?
