Tonight at 9p on NBC, This Is Us gives us an episode to be thankful for. It is Thanksgiving time for the Pearsons, and they will experience through different eras.
Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) spend Thanksgiving with her mom. Rebecca tries to make it perfect, but her mom can’t stop criticizing her. Will Jack stick up for his wife or obey what she told him to do?
The next Thanksgiving takes place after Jack died and the kids come back home from college. Rebecca tries speed dating per Miguel’s (Jon Huertas) suggestion. While she is there, she meets someone. How will the kids react? Kate is bitchy and does something to screw over Kevin. Tension is high for everyone.
Finally, it is present-day, and Rebecca has made a decision about her future. She needs her kids to hear her, but will they listen. Kevin (Justin Hartley) wants to spend Thanksgiving with his children, but Madison (Caitlin Thompson) wants to spend it with her boyfriend. What will he do? And tension is really high between Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan). Is this the beginning of the end?
All I will tell you is Moore gives a speech that makes me want to know why she hasn’t won an Emmy for this role. She deserves it. Translation, I was ugly crying during her speech.
If you are on TikTok, then you have seen someone go big to Céline Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now. I guess someone finally showed it to Mandy Moore, and she was like, I so have to do this. So the actress got her This Is Us co-star’s Sterling K. Brown and Jon Huertas to help her out, and they did. They made the singer look like she is ready for a Vegas residency.
As I watched this, I was screaming, “you go, girl!” And she did!
I am so happy they let go and have some fun between breaks because this season is more depressing than years past. I was ugly crying throughout all of Tuesday’s episode. But then again, I am PMSing and missing my parents.
Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore spent six years playing one of television’s greatest couples of all time. Therefore, it seems like they are really together. While the actors will part ways in a few weeks when This Is Us concludes its run, they will be together forever.
Or at least until the big one hits. That is because their stars are next to each other on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That is love, even if it is only for the cameras. But in our minds, it is real.
So congrats to the two of them as they spend an eternity together as people walk all over them.
This Is Us, like many other shows, has been plagued with production problems because of the plague. Therefore, they are only filming 16 episodes instead of 18 this season, according to The Wrap.
Personally, I am fine with it because this season has been really boring. I want it to be more about Jack and Rebecca and less about their three adult kids and their problems.
Seriously, is it just me, or does it feel like the show jumped the shark when the crockpot caught on fire?
The final three episodes of season 5 will begin airing on May 11th.
